Dr. Moghimi AND staff are the best. I have been to his office three times and every visit he and his staff have been so warm and welcoming. He performed an SI Joint Fusion on me and my pain has vanished. They also have PT on site should you need it. I just can’t say enough good things about Dr. Moghimi at Austin Orthopedic Specialists!

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Moghini; however, after getting an x-ray, I guess my problem wasn't interesting enough for him to actually see me. I was seen by a nurse practitioner, instead. The NP was nice and answered my questions. He said I could speak with Dr. Moghini if I wanted to but "he probably wouldn't have any other information for me." I left with a diagnosis of you'll just have to live with this problem and the pain for the rest of your life. Not terribly satisfying.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr. Moghimi. He got me in immediately when I was experiencing some of the worst pain of my life. After a thorough evaluation, he discovered I needed emergency surgery and moved quickly to make sure everything was handled. He even worked directly with my insurance to get the procedure approved right away, which lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. Throughout the entire experience, Dr. Moghimi was compassionate, understanding, and incredibly reassuring. He took the time to explain everything, made me feel completely comfortable, and treated me with genuine care. His team was just as amazing—professional, supportive, and kind every step of the way. I’m beyond grateful for Dr. Moghimi and his staff. Thanks to them, what could have been a terrifying situation turned into an outstanding experience. Truly a five-star doctor and team!

I was referred to Dr. Moghimi by my pain management provider. I trusted his opinion since he’s been my biggest ally and advocate over the last year as I’ve struggled in the aftermath of a car accident that damaged multiple levels of my cervical spine. Right after my accident happened, another orthopedic surgeon dismissed my disc herniations and my symptoms, and refused to see me or reconsider when all signs pointed to my spine being the problem. After that I spent a year doing everything I could to avoid seeing a surgeon again, but inevitably ended up there anyway. I was terrified and anxious, but Dr. Moghimi validated my injuries, my symptoms, my feelings and verified I DID need surgery, and he and his PA Thomas patiently answered all our questions and concerns. They worked with my insurance to get my surgery approved, and got me in as soon as possible (within 2 weeks!). My surgery was in December, and it went great. I’m healing well and things get better a little bit each day.… Additionally, I love that Dr. Moghimi has open dialogue with my pain management provider so they can collaborate and coordinate my care as a team working towards my best interest. This was a very important factor for me when deciding on a surgeon to see. As a nurse who’s seen her fair share of spine surgeries gone awry, I can say confidently that I would recommend Dr. Moghimi and his team to anyone needing orthopedic spine surgery. Thank you, Dr. Moghimi and Thomas, for helping me, and my husband says thank you for giving him his wife back. We will be forever grateful!

Absolutely wonderful experience. Dr. Moghimi is not only the best Orthopedic surgeon I was able to find. His staff, everything, has been a blessing and I am very grateful for all they have done. My surgery was something that had to be done and I was extremely nervous about the procedure. Dr. Moghimi has fantastic bed side manner and quickly relieved me of my concerns. The procedure and the final outcome went better than I could have imagined and my neck feels tremendously better.

I am 85 years old, one year after spine surgery with Dr. Michael Moghimi, Orthopedic Spine Surgeon; and I am very pleased to have no more nerve pain and no problem with bending, flexing, or rotating my spine. Amazing to find a great doctor that actually cares about his patients. He has done surgery on my husband’s neck and back with great results. He and his staff always greet us with a smile and a good word. We recently moved out of his area, but it doesn’t matter because we will drive to wherever he goes. You don’t give up the best. I recommend him to everyone if they have back problems.

I would give him 10 out of 5 he is that good. Neck Surgery went exactly as he said (except he repaired additional items that were not apparent from MRI). So far recovery has been right on track with what he told me. I have no doubt at the end of 3 months recovery I will feel better than I have in years because I already do. TPS

On March 17, 2023, Dr. Michael Moghimi, orthopedic spine surgeon with Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin, replaced the disc between my L2 and L3 vertebrae with a cylindrical cage that contained bone graft material. Before surgery, the femoral nerve in my right thigh was very painful when I would stand and especially when I would walk. After surgery, the femoral nerve pain was totally gone! Thank you, Dr. Moghimi!

Dr. Moghimi performed a spinal fusion a year ago after I suffered terrible pain in my legs for months before it occurred to me that the problem was not my legs. The surgery was a complete success. He also cleaned out some other damaged vertebrae above the fusion site. I recently had my one-year followup to find complete healing. I had a 90-day healing period and I've been playing pickle ball 3-4 times a week ever since with zero issues. Dr. Moghimi was a great surgeon and physician caring for me the whole time. Highly recommended!
