Dr. Michael Allan Barnard, MD

Michael Barnard was my doctor for 20 years, until I moved out of state. I have never been cared for better. At the time he was my doctor, my insurance was at a hospital where he did not practice, though he maintained admitting privileges. When I needed to be hospitalized, Dr. Barnard sent orders for me to be admitted and then chose a doctor friend of his to oversee my care. He also called me on a daily basis during my confinement to check on me and ask if there was anything I needed. I have never had a doctor as kind and caring as Dr. Barnard, before or after my years as his patient. I entitled my review "Doctors' Doctor" because I had numerous people tell me he's the type of doctor other doctors choose to go to when they need help. I definitely understand why. My heart goes out to those who never had the blessing of being his patient!

Our patient/physician relationship started when Dr. Barnard was still in a trailer on then-two-lane Jones Rd. Knowledgeable, well-trained and quite willing to refer to a specialist when required, he is responsible for more than a few stitches from my do-it-yourself mishaps. He was the primary physician for two wives and 5 kids, though some now ask for his associate,"Dr. Riz" . . . Barnard has been threatening retirement for years. He will be missed. G.Eiband

Bad bedside manner and the practice seems very unorganized.

Very friendly staff and dedicated doctors and physician's assistants. I have been a patient for over 25 years. I always am able to be seen the same day when I am sick. That is important to me. Most of the staff had been there a really long time and they get to know you as a patient. I would highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Barnard has been our family physician for 35 years. He considers first your health, then the optimal treatment at the minimal cost, and his diagnostic skills are beyond excellent. He realized my child needed to see a surgeon and made the appt. for us. We could have lost her if he had not recognized the seriousness of her condition. She is 36 years old and a successful, healthy adult. His care of the rest of my family and extended family has been excellent.

Back office staff is tude. Connie and Kim are the worst office managers I've ever spoken. After 20 years of taking my family there, I finally said enough of thios crap. I've waited up to 3 hours before.

My sister is a patient of the practice and has advanced Cirrhosis. The doctors prescribed her medicine with aspirin in it. This is a MAJOR NO NO with any Cirrhosis patient and they should have consulted with her Liver Specialist prior to giving her anything!

I have been going to Dr. Barnard for approximately 2 years now and I have been very satisfied with the care I've received. His staff are great too.

I made an appointment and was seen within a week. He was very funny and I felt extremely at ease after the visit. He did a great job and helped me figure out my issue and decide on next steps. He is not one to 'sweat the small stuff' and he had hilarious stories.
