I am deeply disappointed by the utter lack of empathy, rigid policies, and poor patient care culture at this clinic. After waiting five and a half months for an appointment with Dr. Michael R. Baze to look at a minor issue previously evaluated by my PCP, I experienced an administrative staff that cares more about minutes than human safety or well-being. My appointment was at 9:30 AM. Because I was running slightly behind and getting lost, I called the office at 9:29 AM from the road to give them a courteous heads-up. I was informed by a completely indifferent receptionist that they have a strict 5-minute grace period, and because I would be arriving at 9:37 AM, they would refuse to see me. When I explained that I was actively driving, stressed, and that trying to rush to beat a two-minute window was becoming a safety hazard, the receptionist was incredibly dismissive, stating, "the policy is our policy." I pulled into the parking lot at exactly 9:37 AM. Out of principle, once I was… sitting there, I chose not to walk through their doors. I refuse to give my co-pay or my insurance company's money to an establishment that treats patients like numbers on a spreadsheet rather than human beings. Furthermore, during the call, I learned that this 3.5-month wait was merely for a strict 15-minute introductory exam, and they would not have even addressed the issue that day—meaning patients are forced into a multi-step cycle just to get basic care, only to often be told they need further testing or inconclusive results. Front-desk staff reflect the training and culture enforced by the physicians they represent. If Dr. Baze’s practice values a 120-second administrative window over the safety, time, and dignity of a patient who waited over a quarter of a year to see him, it speaks volumes about the care you can expect to receive here. Save your time and find a specialist who remembers the humanity in healthcare. I will be taking my care elsewhere.
