Dr. Michael Jeffrey Belmont, MD

In 2010 I had an abortion by this man with what I believe was another doctor beside him it was a surgical abortion and they did a very good job all i felt was pressure once the machine was turned on the ONLY thing that was a bit of a turn off is when he told me my womb was big enough to have had two babies In my head I was just like ummmm ok awfully weird for a doctor to say but I didnt say anything I just kept quiet the whole procedure, I expressed concerns about wanting my tubes tied he handed me his card and told me when I was ready to come and see him , so now I'm reading these reviews it probably was only by the grace of god I never went to see him for that , maybe it was the other doctor and nurses that kept him from making a mistake on my abortion ?????????????????????

This is the doctor that was on call when my sister went into labor around one in the morning. Don’t know if he got paperwork confused and didn’t read her history or what??? But even after he made multiple errors in judgement, during her c section he managed to it only cut the baby (she still has the scar) but also cut my sister’s bladder. She went home with a catheter and had to go to the emergency room several times after coming home.

Some years ago Dr's. Belmont and Godfree performed surgery on a woman who after realizing the initial incision was not sufficiently long ripped away the remaining area by hand. These 2 doctors were going to court and they skipped out through technicalities. Be forewarned if you decide to use their services.

I had a partial hysterectomy in 2010 I thought I was going in to just have some endometriosis removed and right before surgery he had me sign papers for the hysterectomy or he said he wasn't doing the surgery so I signed them. 2 days after the surgery I was back in his awful with a high temp and in a lot of pain apparently I got a staff infection so he have me antibiotics and sent me home. I never got better and went to another dr. He went in and did surgery because I had a lot of granulated tissue left behind but notice there was nerve damage so I was then sent to UAB in Birmingham where Dr Jenkins did 10 hours of surgery trying to repair what Dr Bellmont messed up and from there I had several more surgeries, physical therapy, then referred to Vanderbelt where I was told there was complete permanent damage to my vagina. I have had to get on disability due to all this and can no longer have sex due to the constant pain. I never got an apology from him and basically was told those are… risks and he has nothing to be sorry for. I would never use this man as a doctor he has no compassion and my life is ruined due to him. Please do your research on a dr before you do something major like a hysterectomy. I only hope If one person reads this I can hopefully save them from a life long disability and a lot of pain.

Dr. Belmont is my first gynecologist and I have no complaints whatsoever! He was friendly, helpful, explained things to me and seemed to actually care about what was going on! I will definitely continue to see him!

In 2003, I was pregnant with my 6th child. I went into labor on my own and arrived at Crestwood around 5-6 pm on a friday night. Dr Belmont was on call for Dr McMichens and came into the room and greeted us. he told the nurse to put me on a pitocin drip of which I had already decided I did not want to do. I politely asked him if we could not do that and he went on to say ' we will be here all night'. Wow...isn't that what a Dr gets paid for? To be there for their patient...Then..he left the room and went to the lounge. My contractions picked up and around 9 oclock I told the nurse I wanted some pain relief so she gave me demerol. Before or right at the time it kicked in, I said I felt the baby was coming. She put my feet in the stirrups, walked over to the side of the bed to look at something, and my water broke, the baby hit the floor from up in the air. My husband and I were horrified. The baby nurse picked him up and started taking him to the warmer...the baby's cord had not even… been cut! The Dr came in a few minutes later and my husband and I were panicked and crying. He asked why and we told him the baby hit the floor. He was horrified. It has been nine years and I still relive that horrible moment ever so often. Usually when I have another child. I have had two since then. Of course, the Dr didn't want to admit too much fault as he might have gotten sued. If you use Clinic for Women, DO NOT use Dr Belmont. He might complain that he will be there all night. He really should have never been an OB-he should have worked at a day job that wouldn't interfere with his nights!!!A friend of mine ( a nurse) told me to get the paperwork and always keep it. Do you know that the nurse lied on the paperwork and said she was standing between my legs. I wish now I would have sued the pants off these people. They should have been held accountable- the Dr and nurse and the hospital.
