Dr. Michael Alan Bernstein, MD

Radiation therapy is no "walk in the park." Dr. Bernstein was on my stage T2 N0 tongue cancer treatment team at MSK. It turns out my carcinoma was removed entirely., so I didn't need radiation or chemo. Radiation treatment for mouth and neck cancer is horrible! It destroys the taste buds; it screws with your gums, dry mouth, pain, hair loss. Need I go on? I feel for those who need radiation treatment. Dr. Berstien's Patients give him marginal reviews because they associate him with radiation-induced pain and suffering. Guilt by association. The truth is, this man is barred none the most knowledgeable and compassionate Dr. I've met. He's the first Physician to give me his cell number. In addition to consistently returning my calls, he called me twice merely to see how I was doing! If it ever comes to my needing to sit in the microwave, It will be under his care and during his watch.

Why no comments in these 1-star reviews? Probably didn't listen to a word he said. My experience with Dr. Berstein was outstandingly good. He listens (addresses your questions completely, citing empirical evidence), knowledgeable (knows the numbers), he's accessible (calls you back within 24 hours and apologizes profusely if he's not able to), he's compassionate like none other that I've dealt with. Carry on Dr. Bertnstein. Cancer patients need more like you!
