Waited about an hour and a half for my first appt..first time seeing the doctor whom I believe is highly skilled, and probably a great surgeon as some reviews state. Problem was since I waited so long to see him he was abrupt and did not listen to me. Other doctors had said I needed this surgery, but he was not convinced even though on the ultrasound it showed things that weren’t normal and was questionable! It’s a shame because I needed a great surgeon and I think he is probably one, but he didn’t treat me right. Was it bc he spent so much time with other patients that he really wasn’t up to our appt? Or it was a later appt so possible maybe he was tired, or hungry? but he didn’t help me, so if I would have stayed home I would have known as much as I did before I came to see him and actually would have been better off, so disappointing, so sad, and so wrong. He is kind of gruff and rude. Felt worse leaving then when I came to see him. Not helpful at all, totally wasted my time and… what could have been a good outcome with the surgery I needed was a disaster n a waste of both our times... so wrong! I was so hopeful! Still wondering why he acted like this and didn’t help me??? I wish I knew!

Had a doctor who recommended him for symptoms and issues I was having and gave me a referral. I was excited to see him based on reviews from other patients and his reputation for being a wonderful doctor, so I waited the nearly five months it took to be able to get in to see him. It was such an extreme disappointment. First, the doctor was well over an hour late for the appointment. Secondly, he may have listened, but quickly dismissed every one of my concerns, which of course was irritating to say the least -not to be taken seriously. Thirdly, nothing was done about my problems or issues and at the end of the day it felt like a date where you did something together, then it went wrong somewhere, but you don’t know where, then the person leaves without a word and doesn’t even look back-so very confusing. And I am still sitting here with my problems, so easy for him to dismiss them. It was so strange and a waste of time. Also, when the doctor finally did come into the room he seemed… very preoccupied and then he jumped right in without having a conversation to get to know me or my concerns almost like he had an agenda and already made up his mind what he was going to do before even speaking to me.. It was an odd meeting, so I left without answers, and not only was it a big waste of time and money, but I still have the same problems I had before I came there, they were never addressed. I don’t know what would have made this doctor act so strangely and I will not get an explanation either, so I will never know. Seemed unstable all of it and left me scratching my head. Just beware he may be overbooked and needs to cut his patients down a third or more. This way he can take people seriously and do a thorough appt, not look like he is rushing things and/or bored. in order to be there for his patients, take care of them correctly, not this way, you know be thorough, efficient and take people seriously, come on.

Dr Blumenfeld is extremely knowledgable and very, very thorough. He also has a great personality! I have truly appreciated his expertise and care over the years. Highly reccommend.

Dr. Blumenfeld is the best Dr. I could have asked for! He is very patient,answers questions, he actually takes the time to talk to you when you are uncomfortable with something! He called me the night before my hysterectomy to make sure all my questions were answered! I highly recommend him! I will continue to have him as my OB!

One of the most compassionate, caring, professional and capable doctors I know. I have been his patient since 1993 and he has always been there when I have had problems. He is the only doctor I've seen who has called me at home on nights and weekends to check on my health after a surgery or to answer a question. He has my respect and admiration.

Like to use patients as experiments and let them die instead of doing the right thing to save just to be able to write in a book

This was my first visit to him. I am very heavy and have mobility issues. I also hadn't been to a gyno in a long time and scared out of my mind. While I was waiting someone else demanded their co-pay back and left because she had been waiting over an hour and was told it could be another hour and that 'he's always running behind'. That moved me up, but I still waited an hour and a half. He came into the exam room and looked at me and asked me 'When did you gain your weight?' How does one answer that? 2 o'clock last Wednesday? No introduction, nothing. During the exam he asked me a lot of detailed questions about what I eat and when I finally tried to end the interrogation by telling him I had a team of other doctors following my non-gynecological heath issues he said 'But they aren't with you when you're eating, are they? ARE THEY?!!' There were more invasive questions about my exercise regimen and calorie intake and after going down the hall to finish up my appointment in… another office I got 'LOOK AT YOU! You are out of breath and we only just walked down the hall!' Yes, yes we did. OMG. I could not WAIT to leave, which I did in tears and I will not only never go to him again, I will tell anyone who will listen not to go to him. Fortunately, during the exam he let slip that a gyno I had seen and loved a long time ago was still in practice to I'm seeing her now. Seriously, I almost filed a formal complaint. I can only assume that the people giving him 5-stars for bedside manner met his definition of physical acceptability. The staff was amazing, so maybe some people go just because of that.

An awesome person and doctor. He actually cares about his patients I appreciate his honesty, compassion, and professionalism. Can't say enough about him, he has been there for me through alot of health issues for many years, I hope he never changes.

Greatest doctor in Columbus area

I was a loyal patient for years due to his wide knowledge base despite his poor bedside manner, even going so far as to consistently refer friends, coworkers and patients to him. Half way through my 3rd High Risk pregnancy he had his secretary "let me go", when I came for my scheduled appt, from his practice alleging I was not compliant with directions given to me by his MA. I did not have a history of this at all and argued stating I had called several times and had no response from his MA and was let go anyway and referred to the clinic. I personally believe this was due to the fact that all the years prior I had also worked for OSU and had approved insurance and at the time had started a new job and did not have insurance for pregnancy and was " in process " of getting Medicaid to cover pregnancy. He often questioned me on when this would happen and I thought I openly communicated with him on the process. I paid with cash at each appt so he certainly was getting paid. He was… concerned mostly with the labor and delivery being paid for. I did get covered later in the pregnancy and all was paid for.By "letting me go" like he did I felt deeply betrayed and let down by a Dr I had truly believed cared about my health and high risk pregnancy. I was not able to trust my Dr's through the rest of that pregnancy (due to this)and had a difficult delivery with a Dr I had never met (clinic) and have been unable to bring myself to find a new OBGYN since. He truly affected my ability to trust Dr's and that's saying something as I am a Nurse.I later ran into the secretary who "let me go" for him and she informed me she quit shortly after that experience because it had upset her so much as well.Please don't misunderstand I am not questioning his ability or knowledge as a Dr, in fact, it is superb. I am rather questioning his actual ability to care for his pt's as individuals and not just numbers, potential payroll, and cases.I made the mistake of believing in him as my Dr and putting my trust in him for years only to be coldly dismissed on a trumped up charge during a difficult time in my life with no care for what that would or could do to me, my pregnancy or future health.
