Dr. Michael Higgins Bowman, MD

I have been a patient of Dr Bowman for at least 28 years. He is so compassionate and treats me like I am his only patient. He gives me encouragement and positivity on my condition even though it will never be cured. Highly recommend him

I saw Dr. Bowman for the first time yesterday and was very optimistic when I left the office. I felt he was very engaged and interested in understanding my symptoms and concerns. He was extremely thorough and spent a good deal of time with me. I feel confident that Dr. Bowman cam provide any necessary neurological care I may need moving forward. Very glad I was assigned to him when I made the appointment.

Said I was rude to his staff and said he would not see me anymore. When I got my records I found out what he was talking about. He had the wrong diagnosis in my charts, who ever was the patient that was rude to his staff I don't know who it was. After mixing me up with another patient and not even checking I made them admit the wrong doing and correct the record .I'm glad I got in with Duke who did the normal test for my condition. and found out that I had more wrong.i think he should retire.

Impossible to communicate with office by phone. Office disorganized. More interested in sending you to another of their cost centers than in discussing diagnosis. Got MRI and Dr. Bowman didn't even discuss results with patient before referred to neurosurgeon. Very unsatisfactory and expensive practice. Your photo is not of Dr. Bowman, but of his partner, Dr. Freedman.

Bowman does not jump to conclusions in diagnosis, nor does he take the "top down" kitchen sink approach that many neurologists use in order to justify a dozen tests. He works up, not down. Very good doctor, though sometimes it is extremely hard to schedule appointments.

After starting test at the beginning of Nov. we didn't not get called back for results until Jan. Then we gave them copies of some other MRI reports that we had and they lost them. Their follow time is terrible. A person could die by the time they get back to them. The doctor is okay and is caring but just not enough to hurry up and find your problem. They need to start thinking how it feels to be the patient. They also want to throw presciptions at you without knowing what the problem is. Stop masking the problem and find out what it is.

I had an appointment with Dr. Bowman today, and my husband and I were very happy. His questions and evaluation were very thorough, and it was clear that his depth of knowledge and experience were fantastic. My husband is an MD, so he's not easily impressed. : ) I thought his manner was perfect - took his work very seriously, but had time to be warm and caring as well. Dr. Bowman is first-rate and I would recommend him highly.

He called me on the phone saying I had a VERY abnormal Head MRI and I may have MS, then said have a nice day and hung up... I thought about this call for weeks, which is how long it took to schedule the 2nd MRI and advised the office I wanted to see another Dr. within the practice and he called me personally on a Sat. and advised he cancelled my MRI!!! and no one else in the practice was seeing new patients and hung up on me! WHo does this !!! He needs to be accountable for his actions towards people.. He acted unethically.. and this will not end here!!

Doesn't recognize limitations and need to refer outside practice business.
