Dr. Michael Casey Coan, DO

My primary doctor referred me to Dr. Coan. Initially it took almost a month before Dr. Coan's office called me to schedule that appt. His office staff said they did not receive the first request. I gave them the benefit of a doubt. After a couple meetings with Dr. Coan, he said he was going to refer me to an Orthopedic doctor and that his staff would arrange that and let me know. After 2 weeks, I still had not heard from anyone so I called Dr. Coan's office and left a message requesting status of this referral. I called again 4 days later and left yet another message and then called a third time 2 days after that. I was told they had referred me to an orthopedic doctor.... although no one ever called to tell me that. I then called that orthopedic doctor they referred me to and he doesn't deal with my type of issues. The Orthopedic Dr's staff told me they did inform Dr. Coan's office of this. That Orthopedic doctor told me who they recommended I see and I called that Dr.'s… office and finally made me own appt. Again, I really did like Dr. Coan himself. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything very thoroughly. It's his staff that needs some training on how to deliver good customer/patient service. This one star rating is sadly base on his staff.

I feel very comfortable with Dr. Coan. He is very thorough and I never feel rushed. I find rheumatology to be a nasty puzzle and having his guidance helps put me at ease.
