Dr. Mirza Humayun Beg, MD

I do not recommend this rheumatologist to anyone, especially any young women. He was extremely rude and kept cutting me off. I had seen the young women prior to me get called by her full name, then was able to hear her appointment through the wall. He dismissed all her chronic pain concerns as joint hypermobility, then walked into my room and did the same thing to me without bothering to read my chart or look at my lab results- then proceeded to tell me details about the " other young woman he had seen just prior to me" (we were the only two young women in the waiting room). If he had read my chart, he might have seen that I work in the health field, and would have been more hesitant to commit a blatant HIPAA violation to my face. He kept cutting me off, wouldn't let me speak or ask questions, and was generally extremely disrespectful. Once seeing my lab results, he walked back and started considering autoimmune disorders, but completely dismissed the possibility of fibromyalgia… "because I only treat real disorders." Also ironically, failed to conduct any exam for joint hypermobility. When I brought up the fact that I was in pain, and needed something other than massive amounts of NSAIDS, he said he would prescribe steroids...then didn't. I work in emergency situations and have a high tolerance for stress, but left the office in tears because of the way I had been treated after suffering chronic pain for months with no answers. Thankfully, I saw a wonderful neurologist later on who diagnosed, you guessed it, fibromyalgia and started me on effective treatment! My symptoms were also similar to (but thankfully not) multiple sclerosis, and they were shocked that an MRI had not been ordered. DO NOT see this rheumatologist for chronic pain, especially if you are a young woman. You will not be taken seriously and provided no bedside manner. Myself and other medical professionals that I confided in about the visit were shocked about the complete absence of care.

Poor excuse for a doctor. All he can do is bad mouth my previous doctor. Very rude personality. I will be looking for a new doctor.

He tried to tell me I don’t have arthritis after being seen by Rheumatologist’s and having positive medication results for 20yrs! What a QUACK!

He doesn’t listen or pay attention. Told me I have osteoarthritis. I’m 43 and have pain In joints of both feet, both ankles, both knees, both hands - doesn’t take a genius to know that is not osteoarthritis. My feet have the most pain (unbearable to walk) and he didn’t even examine them. He wrote down that I had pain in my wrists and only pain in right hand and left foot. Obviously he paid no attention. Don’t bother to see him! He also has no clue that 30% of people with RA have normal labs, he solely goes by labs for his diagnosis. I’m definitely getting another opinion.

Not profectional, NO bedside manor

Dr. Beg was very attentive during my office visit. I was concerned about lab values and he was very reassuring and kind. He ordered additional tests and x-rays and at my follow up appointment had an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. His office staff was extremely professional and courteous. I plan to continue to see Dr. Beg and HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to others!

Dr. Beg was very thorough and conservative in his search for a diagnosis of my ailment and treatment. He is dedicated to helping me feel better, and he or his staff is very prompt in returning my calls when I have a problem or questions. He never rushes through my appointments, but spends ample time making sure I understand the directions he has for me.

I went to 15 different doctors before I found him. I suffered from undiagnosed Inflammatory Arthritis that does not show up in lab work. The moment he started asking me questions I knew he was going to find out what was wrong with me. The previous 15 doctors said I had Fibromyalgia and prescribed a rainbow of different meds that didn't work. I feel so much better now that Dr. Beg has diagnosed me properly and has given me the right meds. I have gone from feeling completely disabled to now having my life back. Thank you for listening to me Dr. Beg.

Very conscientious--orders the right tests and considers them carefully. Asks a lot of questions to ensure accurate diagnosis. Seems to sincerely care about his patients. Highly recommended.

Very poor excuse for a specialist, Great Staff. Quack Dr. he would probably make a better car salesman, because he's fool of **it, and himself.....If your serious about getting help go elseware.
