Dr. Michael Shawn Collier, MD

Dr. Collier is up to date on his medical knowledge. He knows how to care for his patients. He's very gentle and understanding. He always takes the time to listen. I'm glad I have met Dr. Collier.

Dr. Collier's office is an amazing place. The front office staff is wonderful- friendly, professional, and caring. Dr. Collier himself is also caring and professional. He has an easy demeanor, really listens, and asks lots of questions. He will talk to you like a real person and doesn't rush through appointments.

If you like to hear "Summit Medical, can you hold (click)" and then like to listen to the radio on your phone for 10 minutes or more, you'll love it here. Also, if you like to be unable to reach the office during lunch hours, you'll be thrilled. The MBA's at Summit need to get their heads out of their spreadsheets and focus on medical care and customer service again.Also, Doctor Collier is friendly enough but seems to be very conservative in treatment. Complaints are often ignored and brushed off without doing anything to help. I was recently diagnosed with some serious health problems for which I had been complaining of various related symptoms for months and years. In addition, now that Dr. Colliers patient load has increased, I often have to see a nurse instead of actually seeing a doctor. I pay the same amount whether I see the doctor or the nurse so I would rather see an actual doctor.

I have to wait ten minutes or more on th e phone to talk to anyone when I call for an appointment. They answer with "Summit Medical please hold," click.. I am on hold. The latest call last week was 10:57 MINUTES on my cell phone timer. I hung up. I figure that if they do not have time to make an appointment, or find out if I need a Rx refill, they do not have time for me as a patient. I am out of medications. I have heart disease and diabetes. I guess since I cannot get through to get an appointment, I will try alternate medication. Another S M G doctor misdiagnosed my ex-wife's asthma and took her off her medication. She was rushed to UT Hosp. and was on ventilator for 9 days. I no longer have a wife.

Dr. Collier is an excellent diagnostician.He takes the time to listen and answer your questions in a way that can be understood. He's professional, but never arrogant.I have recommended him to many people, and those who have gone to him talk about the same excellent care.

Dr. Collier is the perfect Dr. He never rushes and always makes sure I have talked with him about everything I need to. He is also very sm.art
