Dr. Michael Dean Cummings, MD

Upon our Doctors recommendation, I arranged an appointment for Dr. Cummings to meet with my father regarding outbursts he has been experiencing with advanced age. He had been the victim of a severe stroke many years ago and our Doctor recommended Dr. Cummings to provide guidance to help us. My sister took a train to accompany my father to the appointment after filling out all the requested paperwork. Instead of seeing the doctor as we had anticipated for several weeks, the receptionists determined that the information provided in the completed paperwork did not merit a neurological examination but instead a psychiatric examination. Regrettably, our paperwork focused on the immediate problem of the outbursts without conveying the underlying concern of stroke damage. My father was sent away so not to "waste Dr. Cummings time" as I was told by the receptionist. "Dr. Cummings is committed to providing patients, healthcare and legal professionals the highest quality personalized… and comprehensive care and service." I do not think so.. we were merely asking for help and guidance and were asked "not to waste the doctors time".

I tried to schedule an appointment for anytime they could see me. In Laguna for two months on vacation and experiencing severe neck pain after returning from China. Had my Doctor fax MRI, EMG/NCT tests, blood tests, etc. Begged them to see me because I have had the pain for two months. Even pointed out their claim to see patients with urgent care need. They said no! I am fully insured with no deductible and provided them an open schedule. They said no! I begged them to put me on a list. They said no! I am 69 years old and my quality of life until now was good. This daily never ending pain really impacts my quality of life. I said all this and they still said no! After a full review of my situation they refer me to a Doctor who has some terrible reviews. They do not care. What happened to their oath to provide compassionate care?

Dr Cummings is thorough, a good listener, doesn't rush you, considers all pertinent factors, suggests additional options, tends to documentation/ paperwork promptly and is the consummate professional. I assure you he is your correct choice.

I have been seeing Dr. Cummings for a few years now & never take the time to write reviews unless I have a really bad experience; but this is one of the few times I am taking the time to give kudo's where they are due. Dr. Cummings is a great guy, he always makes you feel comfortable, he uses common sense, he's smart and thorough and I have never had a bad experience there. He's not chronically late, doesn't overschedule his patients, or have an attitude. Oh yeah, and he listens to you and takes as much time as you need. He's a gem. You will love him and his staff.

OK, so I was really nervous about going to another neurologist. I had seen one already in the area and was not happy. I took my records to Dr. Cummings and what a difference! NO PA's, I actually got to see the Dr! Not only that but he spent about an hour with me, one on one. The staff was wonderful. She was so helpful and friendly. I cannot thank this office enough as I finally have a diagnosis and relief from pain! Thank you Dr. Cummings and Staff!!!
