Dr. Michael David Danzig, MD

Dr Danzig is a great doctor, very caring and highly knowledgeable.

I 1st met Dr. D in 1979. I was working construction and a cold got down into my chest. I saw a Dr. in Punta Gorda. He called me back and wanted me to meet him at Punta Gorda hospital. I met him and my heart was three times the size it should be. I told him he had the wrong x-ray, he didn't. He made me an appointment with Dr. D in Ft. Myers. ( there weren't any in Charlotte county ). Doc put me through a stress test and other things I don't recall. He then called me and my parents into his office and explained what was going on. He walked me across the street and admitted me into Ft. Myers Community Hospital. I was in ICU for the next month with chf. Him and Dr. Tritel saved my life time after time. I stayed with him until late 90's and found a cardiologist here in Port Charlotte. Last week I had an appt. with him. The dr.s in town are to money hungry and do not listen to patients anymore. I once again am counting on this mans skills. I know his patients are first. God bless him

Agree with other review. This doctor has little interest in patients and is clearly disinterested in providing quality care. I would not recommend this doctor for any cardiology patient.

In December,1978, I came down with a cold. Went down in lungs,couldn't kick it. Seen a doctor. Took chest x-ray. Heart was three times to big,chese was all inflamed. Went to Ft. Myers and met Dr. Danzig Jan. 1979. Put me through usual stress tests in his building , called me in his office. Said I was a very sick young man (21). WALKED me across the street to hospital and saved my life. Was in ICU 31 days and floor for three more, got discharged taking 50 pills a day. i was his patient for about 20 years. In and out of hosp. at first.then finally back to work. May GOD Bless all doctors that care..

I've never had a problem with getting appointments scheduled as needed, including moving up an appointment to a much earlier date. The advice nurse for Dr. Danzig returns calls quite quickly, even though you leave a message on voice mail. Of course she is busy returning other calls. Dr. Danzig has always answered my questions and given reasons for his advice. He does tend to hurry a bit, so make sure you have your questions written so you don't forget. He does offer good explanations. As for the rather hurried visit, I believe it is just modern medicine, unfortunately. I've yet to meet a physician who isn't tied to their 10 minutes they are given to see you. And that is ashamed it has to be like that. They are on a schedule that is much to busy.

He has an excellent educational background and much experience. However, he does not seem overly interested in the patient's problem, nor does he follow-up promptly with results of lab tests.
