Michael John Doherty, MD

It was my lucky day when I met Dr. Doherty a number of years ago. For 10 years I was treated for “absence periods”. My then doctor would not use the words seizure or epilepsy. He was adamant that nothing was wrong with me even though I was having seizures; he referred me to a psychologist for help. It was then I decided to find a new doctor, and so I found Dr. Doherty. He has taken the time, with each appointment, to fully explain what is going on, fully explains my MRI’s, in language I can understand, and actually listens to my concerns and gives me insight and answers. I trust him completely to be upfront with me, which he is. He has an innate “bedside manner”. Dr. Doherty is an outstanding individual and doctor.

I've had a string of bad luck with neurologists. Dr. Doherty, however, was fantastic! I still think he's an incredible doctor...when you get to see him. The problem is that when his patients really need him, he's too booked. Right now, specialists are in high demand but there has to be the ability to see clients in crisis. Moreover, I had blood work drawn to see if I can increase my medication dosage. It's a week later and I still haven't gotten a call back. I highly recommend Dr. Doherty for people who need basic care. He's amazing but if you require follow-up or on-going care, you may want to continue your research.

Dr. Doherty is an exceptional Neurologist. Takes all a lot of time to explain your condition and all possible treatment options. Super nice and easy-going, easy to talk to.

I would not recommend Dr Doherty because he dignores patient information that is necessary to make a correct diagnosis.
