He then earned his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He was a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and twice received the Resident's Teaching Prize. He served a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the Howard and Georgeanna Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in Norfolk, America's first IVF program. Dr. Edelstein is board-certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Obstetrics and Gynecology.
