Dr. Michael Gambla, MD

Don't have the REZUM procedure done by this guy. He caused permanent damage to my urethra and I needed other procedures to correct, and only corrected to a certain degree. When I asked him about the pain I experienced during the procedure, he said "maybe you were just more sensitive down there". Both nurses acknowledged the pain I experienced wasn't normal, and no one knew why I was in such pain. Found out he tore my urethra during the REZUM. This resulted in a 99% blockage that needed major surgery to correct.

Dr. Gambla is extremely knowledgeable and patiently explains the various options for treatment. He listens to patients, to get a proper evaluation of their symptoms and what they expect in the way of medical treatment. He does not try to push patients into anything--he provides his best advice, and leaves the final decision to the patient. Best urologist I've ever had.

Impossible to get anyone on the phone or have a call returned. Cannot get an appointment scheduled easily. Dr. Gambla and his staff do not seem to care about patients but rather just earning money. This is not a trustworthy, dependable practice. Save yourself a lot of frustration and go elsewhere.

Dr.Gambla refuses to see me as I have a balance on my account. They will not take payments as you must pay your balance in full or they will cancel your appointments. You must also remember what you owe as they do not send statements. Insurance company suggests to wait to pay after a procedure to make sure evertgets filed. Find another urogist that treat you well as there are many other great ones out there!!

This doctor is an incompetent man with an MD next to his name. He is uniformed and lacks any empathy or compassion for his patients. He has zero bedside manner, and could care less about the well being of anyone he sees. His practice is a mill, where they treat patients like trash and take advantage of every single patient who steps through the door. He uses his nurse practitioner Amanda to pawn his problems off on. She will appear to care, but in the face of what is right and ethical she will defer to drinking Dr. Gambla's Kool aid. The staff is nasty and rude, and they will not or shall I emphasize DO NOT answer phones or return phonecalls even if you are calling for results. Just read the reviews of employees of this establishment, one is more shocking then the next. Beware of this doctor and practice. Stay far away and do not see this dangerous man.

Had a bladder tuck almost 2 yrs ago Jan. 2013 . Had to have revision in Jan. of 2014. From bladder not emptying right and got lots of UTI's. Which I'm still getting. When never had a UTI in my life at 67. I saw Amanda a few weeks ago cause Dr. Gambla lives in Chicago. We see him this Month. Getting very frustrated with all the UTI's I've gotten since surgery. I've had knee replacement and hip and shoulder. My doctor say it's very dangerous to keep have UTI's in case of infection in replacement joints. I'm getting very worried why they can't get to bottom of these infection! After almost 2 years.

I came to Dr. Gambla a few months ago with recurrent UTIs and some slight incontinence with running. I had been seen by my primary care physician one too many times and decided to see a specialist. I am so thankful I did. I was so frustrated with my symptoms and concerns at my first appointment. I first met Amanda, his PA. She was so so helpful and really listened- the first time a medical provider has really given me their undivided attention. Dr. Gambla was great and we came up with a great solutions to my frustrating problem. The compassion and care I received was amazing. I recommend Dr. Gambla and Amanda to anyone with similar issues.

The best medical choice I ever made was going to Dr. Gambla- After so long with BPH enlarged prostate symptoms and the eventual agony of complete blockage of urine flow- Holap surgery by Dr. Gambla resolved the issue and I was back to normal within hours - He is a truly skilled surgeon with great communication skills and the consummate professional. I feel so fortunate to have found him for this procedure

Dr Gambla recognized an issue with the enlarged prostate and was able to corect the problem with HOLAP surgery. After 6 years of issues the surgery has me at th ebest I have been and still today aftr 5 years all is in great shape. He changed my life.
