Dr. Michael Dennis Getter, MD

My name is Jaclyn Schlee and after reading some of these reviews, I’m just very disappointed. I started seeing Dr. Getter 1 1/2.yrs ago.He told me I needed surgery. Well at 46 who wants to hear you need back surgery. So I went looking for opinions. After 4 other surgeons and same diagnosis, I went back to Dr. Getter. This man is extremely intelligent and he has treated me with nothing but kindness. The staff has been great and always answers my questions and calls back in timely manner. I wish he was my doctor for all my medical needs. Very hard these days to find such a caring and understanding doctor. Because I went to several before coming back to him for spinal surgery. I will recommend him to anyone and everyone that is looking for a wonderful surgeon.

I have had years of medical treatment from multiple physicians in multiple states and prior to my injury worked in the medical field. I became a patient of Dr. Getters in 2014 and can say with certainty that Dr. Michael Getter is above and beyond the standard in my experience.

Strongly advise from seeing this Dr. My 15 year old had an open fracture of his forearm. Dr Getter did surgery at Davis regionale left him with a 35 degree curve in his bone. I took him to another surgeon, Dr Jason Batley that could not believe his eyes. He had two more surgeries, months of therapy. And the as told he would never fully recovere! Be aware!!

I had a broke hip that he did surgery on,he fixed it. But my PT people had to quit because he would not let me put but 30% weight bearing on my leg. Plus he didn't want to see me back for 6 more weeks, and that would make it 8 weeks, most people are walking in 8 weeks, to me this doctor is unfriendly and he don't take time to talk to you. 5 mins max.

I am not at all impressed with Dr. Getter---recommended surgery right away. When I found out that I'd have to travel nearly an hour away from my home for surgery I was told that it was my only option.

Lumbar Fusion This doctor screwed my back up: Misplaced 3 screws with one laying on a nerve, which could be seen on the florscopy before closing me up in surgery, also butchered me up. Kept telling me that the fusion took well and that the bone growth was solid after 10 months. Ended up going to another doctor for corrective surgery. Didn't suit him due not being able to find a lawyer to take my case until week b4 limitations ran out. Was told by the Disability Judge I would have won with flying colors

My first few times I visited dr getter no problems. But my follow up appointment was terrible he acted as if he did not know what I was their for and he did not say anything about how I was processing or nothin I had to call to the office and speak with the nurse ...the dr did not say if I was alright to go back to work nor did he give me any restrictions.....I'm just not happy right now :(

Dr. Getter treated both me and my husband. We went to him for many years and we were so sad to see him leave. The practice he was in was not so good. The staff there was very unfriendly and did not have one bit of compassion for people. I sure wished that he would just open his own practice again in the Charlotte area.
