Dr. Michael J. Greene, DO

Reason for Rating: I am a long-term patient within the Capital Health network (previously with Dr. Kiselova with a 100% perfect payment history). My experience with Dr. Greene, however, has been defined by predatory billing practices and harassment. Specific Issues: Technical Billing Inaccuracy (Up-coding): Dr. Greene’s office billed a high-level CPT 99214 code for a routine 5-minute existing medication confirmation. Furthermore, he applied a Modifier 25 charge for "significant, separately identifiable evaluation" during a wellness visit where no such additional work was performed. I find this lack of billing integrity unacceptable. Administrative Harassment: Despite a formal dispute regarding the unjustified charge during the annual physical exam, Dr Greene's office has utilized an aggressive automated system, sending as many as 4 texts and emails in a single 24-hour period. This frequency is excessive and arguably violates the Pennsylvania Fair Credit Extension Uniformity Act… (FCEUA). Wealth Extraction vs. Patient Care: It is clear that the incentive structure in Dr Greene's office prioritizes revenue maximization over patient relationship management. In a functioning medical system, an annual physical is a baseline for safety. With this doctor, the "wellness" was just a veneer for a billing transaction. Conclusion: Due to these extractive practices and the subsequent harassment, I have terminated my relationship with Dr. Greene and transferred my care to a different location within the network. I strongly advise the administration to review the coding patterns for Dr Greene to ensure they align with AMA and CMS guidelines.

Ran out of prescription and was told I would have to make an appointment to get a refill... mind you the medication is not a controlled substance and stopping abruptly causes severe withdrawal and should not be done. I advised that I am experiencing horrible withdrawal... so I made an appointment which was several days away.. as i got closer to my appointment my withdrawal got worse... throwing up, insomnia, panic attacks, severe pain.. The day of my appt I was in bad shape and tried my best to make it on time but I was 15 min late due to throwing up on my way to the office and when I arrived I was told I couldn't be seen because I was 15 min late and I was told to go to the ER. No sympathy at all. I am switching doctors and wouldn't recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. Steer clear. Horrible experience.
