He is amazing! Fast and accurate!

We changed practices to Matthews-Vu (a 100x better peds office there) When our kids were patients of his, every visit, he spoke to my wife like a punk, condescending flight surgeon. My infant son had recurring respiratory issues, and this is how Halenkamp handled EACH visit: *condescending comment(s), a few seconds examining, more smart aleck comments about how my son's fine, treated my wife's questions like she was a jerk for asking them, script written for amoxicillin, see ya later.* He did this a FEW times. Soon enough, my son landed in the hospital with RSV/pneumonia. We promptly left his practice. Not EVERY doctor gets it right, no one is perfect, of course. That wasn't the main issue. It was a matter of HOW we were treated, and the weak effort put in, on top of incorrect treatments. Now, my infant daughter was in the hospital with RSV (no pneumonia) and guess who? He's the attending. Same story again: *spends mere seconds examining her, disconnects her oxygen, waits a few… seconds while she's completely still, her pulse ox stays at 90, deems she's fine, and that she should go home, see ya later.* MINUTES later, her pulse ox plummets below 70 and STAYS there...guess who forgot to hook the oxygen back up? We're REALLY tired of his drive-by type of effort EVERY TIME - that also comes complete with his condescending comments. We know HE'S the doctor and we NEVER tried to tell him what medical plan should be implemented. We just got real tired of the attitude and half-hearted efforts that we experienced EVERY time we saw him. As I mentioned, we've moved on to another pediatrician who has been absolutely wonderful and extremely helpful. She doesn't just take a glance at our kids, write an antibiotic script, and take off...she spends time examining, asks us questions about what's going on with our kids, recommends treatments (doesn't just default to antibiotics every time) speaks to us like adults and doesn't respond like a condescending smart aleck when we ask a simple question. Extremely refreshing. If you'd like the opposite kind of experience, please, send your children to Halenkamp.

When I was a nurse, I had many physicians at the hospitals over the course of years, it's a part of being a nurse. I would rate the physician below average. I also do not like strange comments like "Lorri, you need a facelift and new dentures, and please don't wear black, you look like you are 60''. Oh my goodness gracious! I'm so sorry to hear that the beautiful gal broke our pediatrician's heart. Y'all, he is such a southern sweetheart. My kids call him Sugar Bear cause he is so kind. During the appointments I enjoy the conversations with him about his favorite southern dishes. He loves the coon and the possum stew served by his old lady and likes to have plenty of Coke with it. I hope his granny's comforting dish along with the Coke will help his heart heal. Bless his heart

At first I liked the doctor because he looks just like my favorite actress Scarlett Johanssen. But then he started to push me to sign up my child for the clinical trials multiple times. I know that kids are in pain from the needles during those clinical trials. Poor babies getting boo-boos, all because the doc wants to make money from the research company. He is pushing those clinical trials with the vigor of a used car salesman, who is desperate to move that Chevy of the parking lot. The worst kind of loser who is making money on kids pain. He overcharges my insurance too, a lot

This doctor has the following methods of "medicine". To hit on a beautiful lady - call her at night - do all kinds of other crazy things - get dropped, get really hurt - hide behind his ol' lady skirts - get creative to make himself look like not a dumpee. Be gentle on this physician, he just got dropped few month ago, so he is really hurting

This doctor has a great ability not to take himself seriously, be able to laugh at himself. I told him I could not remember his last name, so he said to call him any last name I could remember. When my child got sick, he got really creative : "Mom, we need to call doctor Swollenhand!" I shared it with the doctor, and he laughed a lot. Then he said he prefers to be called "Doctor Swollenhead". I laughed and suggested he needs to trade mark this name to be the most famous doctor in US. Truly, he has a remarkable ability to laugh at himself

Pediatrician wonderful in many ways

He overcharges my insurance for the visits. Some people will do anything for an extra buck

Brilliant physician. I would not be surprised if he invents a life saving vaccine and goes to save babies in Africa. Extraordinary mind and very kind heart
