Dr. Michael Benjamin Hallet, MD

Not really sure what to say. Not a good experience. Doctor is rude and hurried throughout visit. Has no patience for children. Wants the visit to be with the patient only and is extremely procedure/surgery focused. Does not take time to get to know you. Wants to complete as many vasectomies as possible in a day. He does not see you as a person/patient. He sees you only as a number/$$$ from insurance. :(

This Doctor needs a new attitude!

I guess we should have read the reviews on here first. Went for the initial pre-vasectomy appt. Dr Hallet seemed very rushed & abrupt. My husband was not impressed. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe it was just a rough day. My husband went ahead and scheduled the procedure. Surgery day comes and Dr Hallet is MORE rude, arrogant and downright disrespectful. I try to refrain from "pulling the woman card". But this is one man who CLEARLY looks down upon women. It was as though I was not there. I asked a question and he looked at me and told me not to worry about it. I'm sorry, but this is my husband and I will be the primary caretaker over the weekend while he's recovering. Why am I not allowed to ask questions regarding his care??? He gave my husband this packet that was printed from several different websites and just all meahed together and stapled. We left there feeling abandoned. And heaven forbid you call the office with a post-procedure issue or question. We… called twice. Left messages. Never once heard back. So very disappointed. Feels like an insurance scam.

ARROGANT AND RUDE!!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!

Rude and abrupt. Rushed in and out. Really did not seem to have time for us and left us with many unanswered questions. Spoke down to me when I asked a question regarding my husband's possible vasectomy. He basically told me this was a procedure for my husband, not me. Yes I understand that, but being that we are a married team, is it not okay for me to understand what will be going on? We will being going to another Dr for another consultation.

Obviously spends time after visit to find the right answer. Kind of abrupt at times but a great doctor.

PROS: Nice guy. Easy to get in for an urgent appointment. Very courteous staff. Easy to contact. Returns calls. CONS: Doesn't seem to listen well every appt feels rushed. Wish he would be willing to do more tests then simply guessing and writing a script. I feel like when I asked questions or bring up concerns they are not explored. Wish he would explain more. Seem likes he gives up if he doesn't have the answer rather than investigate more about the cause of the problem.

Dr. Hallet happened to be on-call the weekend I went to an emergency room. He had me in his office the next Monday, did a cystoscopy on Thursday, and removed a very cancerous kidney a week later. The followup lasted five or six years, and more recently I've seen him about other, less serious matters. His "bedside manner" is more that of an East Coaster than a Midwesterner, but don't be put off. He knows his stuff and will take care of you.
