Dr. Michael Christopher Hanes, MD

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Dr. Hanes. After receiving MRI results indicating a lesion or tumor on my cervical spine, I made multiple attempts to contact the office, including Dr. Hanes, to discuss next steps. Despite the seriousness of these findings, it took three separate calls over multiple days before I received any response, and even then, I was simply told to schedule an appointment. This lack of timely communication and guidance from both the office and Dr. Hanes is unacceptable. Situations involving potentially serious medical findings require urgency, clear communication, and compassion. Unfortunately, I received none of these. The lack of responsiveness and empathy left me feeling dismissed and deeply concerned about my care. While Dr. Hanes has been knowledgeable in the past, this experience demonstrated a significant failure in patient-centered care. The handling of this situation reflects a broader issue within the practice and has completely… eroded my confidence in Dr. Hanes. I will not be returning, and I hope this feedback prompts meaningful changes so that future patients are treated with the urgency, respect, and compassion they deserve when facing serious health concerns.

Went to another local doctor and was referred to Riverside pain management where they only wanted to give me pain medication I chose to book and appointment with Dr Hanes in the Fleming island office where I have received top notch care. Dr Hanes ordered MRI and also started treatment plan that consists of injections I have had 3 visits and already feel the relief. I would hands down recommend Dr Hanes if your looking for treatment for your pain and not just medications to mask the pain

I have had two neck surgeries. After the first one, my neurosurgeon referred me to Jax Spine. I was fortunate enough to be set up with Dr. Hanes. He was unbelievably helpful in getting my pain under control, and helping me get off the meds as I got better. I continue to see him for low back issues. He is knowledgeable, conservative, and efficient (I have never had to wait). He has a range of options, and is systematic in using them. I have referred everyone I know with pain issues to him.

He was simply unprepared and had preconceived notions. His plan was inappropriate.

After going through back surgery and having persistent back and leg pain, Dr. Hanes implanted a spinal cord stimulator with fairly dramatic response. I have been able to return to work and even spend a little time at the gym. Not 100% relief, but mcuh better than before the stimulator.
