Dr. Michael Andrew Harris, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Harris for 20 years. I was a PT at the same hospital and he saw me the first time I hurt myself. He listens to me and doesn’t dismiss me when I have concerns. When I was dismissed by other physicians Dr. Harris listened to me and did follow up tests to reveal all of my concerns were verified. He has taken the time to personally call me same day when I have questions or gets back on MYCHART usually same day. I highly recommend Dr. Michael Harris.

Dr. Harris told me I didn't have pain though I've been struggling with with three pain causing disorders for years. I provided medical records showing my history of treatment for the last 12 years. He spoke with two of my doctors confirming the legitimacy of my words and records including X rays and mri. Dr Harris still refused to give just 14 Vicodin or ANY medicine for pain relief. This is the very least I need to tolerate 7 days physical therapy. He made me feel like a criminal. He only acknowledged one disorder and used it as an excuse not to treat any of my pain. I told him I was bedridden for 9 days about two weeks before. He wouldn't acknowledge or comment. I left the office extremely depressed, hopeless, fearful, demoralized and in still physical pain. He treated me as though I had done something wrong. I am a disabled registered nurse. I spent my vitality taking care of others, relieving their pain. I regret my career that has left me needing help in a place where pain… patients are criminalized. This is harm by omission. The doctor harmed me and decreased my quality of life by: Allowing my body to further degenerate by not allowing me medication for pain before and after physical therapy. With medication denied, I am refused the opportunity to get stronger by exercising I will spend more days in bed gaining more weight and losing more muscle. Increasing my chances of forming a clot Increasing my chances for developing pneumonia Increasing depression, thoughts of worthless, anxiety, rage

I was sent to Dr. Harris by another doctor..When I called to set up an appointment, I asked whether I had to bring records..The receptionist told me no, since the doctors I saw were at the same hospital, and he could look at my records through the computer system..When he came into the exam room, he asked about my records..I told him I had asked and the receptionist said he could access them in the computer..He just looked at me and said, "what person doesn't bring their records to an appointment?" in a sarcastic tone..He dismissed my pain..I was referred to him for my medications, which he would not give me..The next day, I brought my records to the office..The receptionist at the desk told me that she could not put the records on his desk or in his mailbox because she's "not a mailman"..She refused to take the records from me to give to him..I walked out, reported Dr. Harris and the receptionist and never went back..There are too many similar reviews for this doctor--go see someone… else!

This doctor is one the most unprofessional practioners that you might ever encounter. He and his staff make you wait anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes in the exam room before you are graced with his presence. He makes a dignosis without consulting reports and not ordering tests because his opinion is always right. His nurse stayed around my exam room checking on me while she had to actually yell for his colleague and him to come in the room, for about 15 minutes. Then you get examined, questioned about everything, he tells you his opinion, and then talks down and makes fun of you just to be a jerk. If you actually need pain medication to manage the pain, don't expect this "expert" to give you any. He actually told me that because of my age group, which is early 30s, that I am not a candidate for pain relief. He tells you to suck it up and then smirks as he walks out of the room.

I found my experience with Dr. Michael A. Harris to be the most horrible medical experience that I have had to date in my lifetime. I found Dr. Harris to be rude, patronizing, and downright unprofessional. I feel that this appointment was a complete and total waste of my time and resources. As a patient in severe pain the last thing I need from a doctor is accusing sarcasm. I left his office feeling worse than I did before the appointment. I wouldn't recommend this physician if he were the last on Earth... His bedside manner sucks, absolutely no compassion for his patients.

how can a dr. tell you your pain and pain level when he seen you for less than 5 min. and sent a "resident" a up and coming doctor with her hands still wet. Telling me I had no such issues and he has been practicing for twenty two years. He makes you feel what you go through in your everyday life is lie. I have never dealt with metro before and with him being my first experience, I will never deal with that hospital again...ever!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a good chance that he will tell you that your pain is all in your head. Stay away from this doctor unless you want your pain to be completely dismissed.
