Dr. Michael Hsieh, MD

Dr. Hsieh is a rare urologist with strong knowledge regarding recurrent UTIs - he clearly keeps up with new research and is very open to innovative treatments including supplements that might help a patient. I had a few great appointments with him where he started me on a helpful treatment plan, and then received an email outlining his transition was practising to just paediatric cases in a few months. This is understandable but what happened next was disappointing. His receptionist, who is otherwise quite lovely, called me to say that my last appointment would be cancelled because of President Biden’s order regarding telemedicine appointments. I pointed out that said order wouldn’t go into effect until May so that left plenty of time for my last appointment which was booked for April. That didn’t matter. My appointment was just cancelled and treatment left up in the air which is honestly quite unprofessional and poor conduct. I sent an email with a few questions given that I wouldn’t… have a final appointment and never even heard back. A highly intelligent physician but this is not the way to deal with a patient. I am very disappointed with how this turned out.

Dr. Hsieh cured me of a chronic UTI that I had been suffering from for about 8 years. I sought his care while living in New York, at a time when I thought I had exhausted all my options and after seeing many urologists in New York. He cured me in about a year. Dr. Hsieh is a compassionate doctor who listens to your symptoms and adjusts treatment accordingly. He is also a surgeon and a researcher who stays on top of the literature and new testing methods for chronic UTI’s. I did have to take a lot of antibiotics, and he performed two bladder procedures, but now I can say I don't have a chronic UTI. I am extremely grateful to have found Dr. Hsieh and applaud his contribution to a little understood and under researched women's health issue. Other urologists could learn from his approach.

Dr. Hsieh is a compassionate and knowledgeable urologist who is also on top of new research. I have been seeing him for several years now. I have a painful chronic condition that does not have good treatment protocols. He is very willing to work through various options and responds well to new research and ideas that I come to him with. He is also very responsive to email and was doing virtual visits even before COVID. I would highly recommend him for my condition, Chronic UTI and any other urological condition.

Finally found a urologist that listens, he got me back on my feet and enjoying my life again after years of debilitating infections. Can’t say enough good things!

After years of searching for a competent urologist, Dr. Hsieh was an answer to my prayers. He has assisted me in coping and treating chronic UTI's using advanced technology. I have referred numerous adult & pediatric patients, all who were very pleased. As a RN, he has exceeded all expectations.

I saw Dr. Hsieh for recurrent uti’s which were affecting my entire life. At first he tried to help me, however, I’m not your average uti patient. I’ve suffered with these for years. He seemed to become frustrated with my condition and I’m the end, he offered me no help at all. I had great hope that I finally would have some answers and assistance. I was very mistaken. If you’re suffering with recurrent and resistant infections, he’s not someone who can help you. Keep looking!

I went to see Dr. Hsieh for a routine circumcision for my son as referred by my pediatrician. He did not perform the procedure as I expected. I was barely with him for 2 minutes after he looked at my son's anatomy and said it would not be a problem. Then he recommended it be done in the OR under general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia at 6 months or older. I would not recommend him for circumcision of a normal healthy newborn which can easily be done under local anesthesia. I felt bamboozled.

Terrible doctor. Unprofessional. He has done a surgery on my son, he did even came by to talk to me after surgery. He just disappeared. He never came by to talk to us when my son was in recovery room . We were in the hospital 6 day. I would not recommend this doctor, don’t know where he got his license.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hsieh for the past year due to chronic urinary tract infections and interstitial cystitis. I have had these conditions for at least ten years and have seen multiple doctors to help me. Dr. Hsieh is very knowledgeable and kind. He understands these conditions and has offered me help and some hope. He is open to your ideas on how you want to proceed with your health issues and clearly explains options that are available to you. I am very pleased with the excellent care that I continue to receive.

I have had a good experience seeing Dr. Hsieh for a difficult bladder condition. He is compassionate and caring and is able to explain things so I can understand them. Is willing to email since I live in S.C. and went to see him when doctors in my area were not knowledgeable about my condition. His staff were also pleasant and always helpful. Highly recommend!
