Dr. Michael James Fairfax

I was very unhappy with the service I received here from the beginning to the end. It's impossible to reach anyone in the office over the phone, even after leaving multiple messages. It takes months to receive an appointment. My prior physicians' office sent over my medical records and somehow they were not received even though I had confirmation they were sent. The front desk staff was pretty apathetic towards patients. There was ZERO communication between Dr. Fairfax and his staff. They called me the day of the second appointment to ask about my bloodwork but never told me at the previous appointment that I would need lbs done. Dr. Fairfax, other than not looking over my medical records did not listen and misdiagnosed me. I have an autoimmune disease that I had been diagnosed with and he said I didn't have it, basically that the pain I was feeling was from mild degenerative disc disease and that there was nothing he could do for me. I felt like he was treating me like a hypochondriac… and a silly woman when I expressed to him that I was experiencing intense pain. I later went to a different rheumatologist who upon taking my x-rays was able to verify not only did I have ankylosing spondylitis, it had worsened since my original diagnosis. Had I not gone to get a third opinion and taken Dr.Fairfax's misdiagnosis, I would not have been able to receive treatment for my disease Uncaring doctor who treats his patients like they are stupid. I wouldn't recommend him or his unprofessional office to anyone. Please go somewhere else if you wish to actually be treated.

I have been seeing Dr. Fairfax for about 10 years or more. I drive 4 1/2 hours one way to see this man and find him knowledgable and WHEN I ASK HIM SOMETHING about my RA and OA, he gives me an answer. If he doesn't know why I am having a new problem...he finds a specialist who can see me and ease the problem. He is a quiet person, well educated, professional in his field, but YOU HAVE TO ASK HIM ! He is not very talkative, but I am...so, we do fine together.

Does NOT LISTEN. UNPROFESSIONAL ARE PRACTICING ONLY FOR THE MONEY. Find another specialist.

Incompetent, rude, condescending, and overall horrible provider. This man and his troll wife are in it for money alone. Most staff and co-providers leave because they are horrible employers. Do not give these idiots your hard earned money!

I have been a patient of Dr. Fairfax for six years. All of my R.A. needs have been met. He is thorough, any efficient. I would recommend him to everyone.

I have read some of these reviews and was in the office when someone refused to present their card. Why would you come unprepared? Every office I go to asks for my insurance cards ( have 2) , copay and some ask for photo ID. I am glad to provide what they need to obtain good care. It seems odd that anyone would go to a dr. and not be willing to present what is required. It would be like going to a grocery store without money or being upset that you can't get on an international flight because you "forgot" your passport. The key here is take responsibility and arrived prepared.

If I could put -5 stars I would. I work in healthcare and understand how things should really go for patients. This Drs office has the collective empathy of a nat. I drove 40 minutes for an appt and arrived10 minutes earlier than requested. I forgot my insurance card which the office has on file and can access online, so in spite of me being in horrible pain, I was denied seeing the dr unless I spent and hour and a half driving home and back to get my ins card. To be honest I did not have high hopes this dr would help me anyhow because he ran a myriad of tests, never contacted me about the results, then just instructed me to come back in 2 months without any treatment in spite of the pain. I can only recommend people stay away from this Dr even if you are desperate.

Ive been diagnosed and treated for years. Because of job and insurance change I needed a new doc. I waited 4 months for an appointment. He felt my hands and said I had mild swelling, but he wasn’t convinced it was RA. I could barely walk that day. I told him who my old RA doc was and he was impressed. He told me to get X-rays and blood work done and come back in 2 month. He asked no questions and gave no care. I’m mad my insurance paid him at all.

Worse Dr on the planet. Reverse diagnosis and lies.

Horrible, no other word. The Dr was ok and professional. In his words "I don't know" his Profesional diagnosis. Which didn't really bother me I thought he was honest and we'll wait for results. But getting an appointment. 3 month wait and the staff was just unbareable. Specially the receptionist, most rude I have ever has to deal with. Do not recommend this place at all. And the fact that you have to figure out where to get the testa done cause they don't even take blood samples is a complete NO. Don't waste your time honestly.
