Dr. Michael David Khoury, MD

Dr. Khoury himself was reasonably pleasant and seemed knowledgable. However, his staff was rude,discourteous, and unhelpful. His insurance/scheduling coordinator scheduled my surgery for a time when I had a prior committment. When I went in to the office (within 24 hours) to try to arrange a time that did work with my scheule, I was told that my only options were to 1) cancel my prior committment or 2) cancel my proceedure. Since I could not cancel my prior committment, I had no choice but to cancel my proceedure. The scheduler told me that it would be too much work for her to contact my insurance company again for preapproval of a different surgery date. "What if everyone came in here and requested a different surgery date after it had been authorized by the insurance company?" she asked me. When I pointed out to her that she had scheduled the date and time with the insurance company without first checking with me to see if it was possible for me to make it at the time she scheduled,… she told me that it would be too difficult for her to fax the insurance company again for authorization. I don't like confrontations, they make me physically ill. After dealing with her, I went out to my car and cried for about a half hour. I had to find another doctor who would schedule my surgery at a time that would work for me. Since my insurance company would not pay twice for an initial consultation and another diagnostic ultrasound, I had to pay out of pocket for both fees. It was almost worth it to be treated kindly by a professional staff.
