Dr. Michael Kligfeld, MD

This guy spent 3 minutes tops with me for the few appointments I had and was quick to diagnose me after a few minutes and even quicker to prescribe ssri medication that did more harm than good. DO NOT see this doctor and from me to you seek other avenues of getting your life under control instead of submitting to money hungry drug dealers like Michael Kligfeld, he care's more about getting paid and making customers than trying to find a way to help you. Medication isn't always the answer.

Dodgercat....aka kligfeld must have wrote this review...I can just see him. He is the worst Dr. I have ever seen...just likes to load his patients up with drugs and discuss insurance coverage during sessions. He has no help so he never gets paid because he submits claims differently every time. He is too cheap to hire help for his billing. Wants you to do his secretarial and billing. No way....

I don't care for this dr at all.

Before submitting this review, I read the previous reviews and there are recurring themes: Dr. Kligfeld is apathetic, lacks compassion, and only cares about money. When I inquired about the condition, he "didn't have time" and asked me to schedule an appointment. When I asked for a second opinion, I was told that the medication prescribed was very addictive and incorrect for the condition. While I understand a psychiatrist prescribes medication and does not counsel, this is not mean that communication skills are unnecessary. He severely lacks communication skills. Not everyone has a M.D. As such, he needs to significantly improve his communication skills. Informing patients of your expertise is part of your job!

Over booked visits for med management....saw him for 3-5 minutes a session...charged for a full session...asked if I could come off meds...no discussions of my condition or effort to explain anything...short tempered and yells. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Kligfled is a right-to-the-point doctor which, by the way, is what I needed. When I require an appointment, he is there. Always accommodates my medication needs, so as far as I'm concerned he is on the mark.

I felt Dr. Kligfeld was very intelligent, and addressed my problems completely. very satisfied with his "no nonsense " approach .

I've been a patient of his for years. The first thing you must understand is Psychiatrists and Psychologists are two different things / functions. Psychologists functions are to talk to you about your problems and provide you with therapy. A Psychiatrist is only there to get a basic understanding of your basic symptoms, and from that basic understanding prescribe you medication that is appropriate, then to review with you just how that medication is working for abating your symptoms, not to go over the talk therapy that is the work of your psychologist. Two very different functions. Once you distinguish between the functions of these two professions, you need to ask your self, what is it I really want out of a psychiatrist, and that to me is flexible appointment times, and professional medical prescribing. From that perspective, Dr. Kligford is a very good Dr. he always works around your time schedule, there is little to no wait, he takes your opinion of the effectiveness of a… medication, and doesn't fight you on your opinion of staying on that medication or trying something else. He is rather gruff, with no " Bedside Manner " Any doctor is essentially a small businessman, that is very concerned with making sure he is paid, and if he doesn't manage this, will quickly go out of business. With him, assuring he gets paid is very important, but once that is taken care of, he does very effectively meet the need of / purpose of a medically prescribing MD. Just don't expect a touchy huggy interaction. When I need my prescription, NOW - he is excellent, no month long waiting periods to be seen - he will generally see you that day or the next, at your convenience. Just leave the chit chat for your psychiatrist, you won't get it from him...

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Kligfield back when I was 14. My school suggested to my family that I get a psychiatrist for one reason or another and Dr. Kligfield was the only adolescent psychiatrist in the area.Our first meeting was great, it was mostly him talking to my insurance company and when he was done with that we talked nothing about what issues I was having. He asked me questions like what I was learning in school, and based off my answer of volcanoes and slavery he decided that I needed to be put on heavy anti depressentes and anti anxiety meds. He actually told me straight up, exact words, "I don't care about your problems, I'm only here to prescribe medication."I didn't graduate from Yale or anything, but before putting a child on serious medication that they'll probably be stuck with taking for the rest of their lives, shouldn't you talk about what exactly its problems are in the first place? And what 14 year old girl in middle school isn't crazy and over emotional?… Its hormones doc, let me fully develop before you start diagnosing me with mental illness.I would not recommend doctor feelgood to anyone unless they are in the market for becoming a drug addict.
