Dr. Michael David Kornblatt, MD

Dr. Kornblatt performed an L5-S1 microdiscectomy on me in December, 2000, when I was just 38. Here I am at almost 61 and you could never tell by looking at me and my strength. Yes, at that time, he had the absolute worst bedside manner, but who cares about that when your body needs to be fixed? I still give him five stars because I am forever thankful for his great work. I can't even see the scar anymore!

Worst doctor you could possibly ever see. Saw him years ago and to this day my visit with him still haunts me. I was young and dealing with a bad back issue that I ended up having successful surgery for with another doctor. Out of the many rude things he said to me, the best was, "I cut for a living and you don't need to be cut, there is nothing I can do for you." How he is still licensed to practice, I will never know.

He is a liar a fraud and paid off by the insurance company

He severed a nerve in my husband's spinal area and caused a permanent dropped foot. He not only denied and did not offer restitution... but the pages listing his misstep were mysteriously removed from his operating reports. I don't know how he sleeps at night when he obviously permanently damages some of his patients and doesn't have the decency to own up to his mistakes. I would not refer my worse enemy to him.

Performed an independent medical exam stated he was falsifying it he gets paid by insurance companies insulted and assaulted me in office could care less if I was ever healed

I was sent to Dr. Kornblatt by my worker's comp insurance company for in independent evaluation at his Chicago/Michigan Avenue location. I took the time to read all of these reviews prior to going to see Dr. Kornblatt and I chose to focus on the few and far between, positive reviews, where he was referred to as a "hero" by one patient and it was suggested that he "saved my life" by another of his patients. I am wise enough to know that most satisfied customers/patients don't write reviews. When I entered the office, the front office staff was quite pleasant. Once I was in the exam room, I waited maybe 10 minutes tops for Dr. Kornblatt. He entered, shook my hand and told me that he had been practicing for 37 years as a prelude to the fact that the worker's comp insurance company had failed to supply him with any of my records. so, outside of the MRI's and corresponding MRI reports that I was told to bring with me, he had no other documentation to work from. I had 95 pages of… documentation in my bag and suggested that I had most of my records and that he was more than welcomed to review, which he declined. Instead, Dr. Kornblatt sat down with me and took the time to go over the details of my injury and the follow-up treatments that I had received since the injury had occurred. He was writing everything down on the back of an arbitrary piece of paper, which, as long as he can keep up with it, was perfectly okay with me. He also took the time to do the same examination that every other doctor whom I have seen for this injury has done and when he was finished, he agreed with other surgeons that I had seen in that there was nothing that could be remedied with surgery. He also said that he saw nothing "anatomically wrong with me" he also suggested that my pain was due to diabetic nerve pain. He suggested that I "push through the pain and go back to work and do what I normally did" . Though that is MUCH easier said than done when one is dealing with excruciating pain, I made mental note to self. The ONE nugget of advice that Dr. Kornblatt did offer, which in my opinion is the MOST POIGNANT piece of advice that I have received thus far from any doctor as it relates to this horrific pain that I am dealing with, that no one can remedy without drugs, was that " No doctor is going to be able to heal you . . . You're going to have to do it yourself". Now, I'm sure that many people would be offended by such a statement, but after suffering as I have and for as long as I have, I'm not looking for sugar coating and I must concur that outside of continuing to prescribe drugs that do not allow me to function on any level and/or have side effects that only elevate and add on to my issues, I am highly doubtful that NO WESTERN Medical doctor is going to be able to assist me with the pain that I am experiencing. There has to be a root cause for it and I am moving in the direction of Eastern Medicine and Holistic protocols instead, in an effort to try to find the cause and possibly a cure as well. At the very least, I hope to find a natural pain management solution. All in all, Dr. Kornblatt was respectful, courteous and to the point. He is STRAIGHT NO CHASER ~ just like me and I appreciate him confirming what I was already coming to the my own realization of. Hopefully, by doing so, I will be able to come back and write an additional review in which I will consider Dr. Kornblatt as my "hero" who "saved my life" by being honest in acknowledging what no doctor could or has thus far.

This man fixed me when no one else would...all docs just kept giving me pain meds for 5 yrs...I had degenerative disc disease and he did a spinal fusion on me in 2008 I have never felt better...he was so caring and compassionate....he is my hero....I never had a bad experience with him....

He prescribed therapeutic exercise that has kept my spinal stenosis under control and without problems.

Dr kornblat blatantly literary saved my life .when I had NO quality of life left. He operated on me 2 times in five years each time I was trilled with my results. He also didcarpel tunnel surgery on both my wrists which he dosentusallydo all you cranky people need to remember he's only 1 man with lots of patients. Why do you think the wait is a little long?? Cause he's worth waiting for.
