Dr. Michael James Kosta, MD

I am a 61 year old female who went to Urgent care fairly certain I had Bell's Palsy and a possible ear infection. Dr. Kosta seemed more interested in playing "gotcha" and being funny than in listening to me and diagnosing my symptoms. He told me I didn't have Bell's Palsy (wrong) and didn't have an ear infection (correct) and sent me home with no explanation for the paralysis on the right side of my face. I needed to return the next day to my wonderful doctor's practice to be correctly diagnosed and receive medications and careful instructions on important nutrition, eye care, referrals for PT and Acupuncture and supplements. Since early invention and medications is especially important with Bell's Palsy, Dr. Kosta's mistake not only cost me money and time but could also impair my full recovery. If I felt his misdiagnosis was an honest mistake, that would be ok. But his cavalier attitude and condescending approach is inexcusable in any doctor. I fully recommend you find another Doctor… to see and avoid Dr. Kosta if possible.

Broke lots of bones in lower arm/wrist hiking. Suffered mind-bending pain as a result. Kosta offered NOTHING to relive it. Not ice, a stick to bite on, zilch. He splinted the breaks wrong. My orthopedic doctor was at a loss when I told him about Dr Kosta. Couldn’t fathom why he opted to ignore the unspeakable pain. His best guess was that Kosta has been out of med school for 40-45 years and was just unaware of medications approved in past decades. He’s cruel, ignorant, and has no empathy or compassion for others’

Highly recommend Dr. Kosta at Boulder Medical Center in Urgent Care.

Dr. Kosta is in an urgent care practice. People come in hurting and worried. He uses humor to lighten the mood. And, he's completely professional and very knowledgeable. He processes info quickly, an important trait in this work. I've seen him twice (for different incidents) and both times he took the time to answer all questions and explain the X-rays. He is kind, caring, and makes sure you have all that you need. A good man and an excellent physician.

I got to say I have to disagree with all of these comments on here. I just got home from seeing Dr. Kosta at the ER here in Boulder and he was so great! He was funny, fun, genuine, caring, and did a great job of answering all my concerns and worries. I left feeling well taken care of and made the doctor/ER experience which I don't enjoy...enjoyable!

Dr Kosta is my favorite doctor in Boulder!! And he's at Urgent care!! I wish I could see him by appointment. I had hypochondriac fears walking in, and he walked me through each fear dispelling them one by one!! His bedside manner is amazing- caring and positive! He gives high fives and smiles. Love this doc!

Certaily does a poor job at representing self and staff at boulder medical center.

How is this man a certified physician?! He was condescending, spent little time with me and didn't seem to care at all about my symptoms. I didn't trust his "diagnosis." It wasn't explained properly even when I inquired for more answers. Instead I was treated in a condescending manner and shuttled out the door. There was no discussion about follow-up if my conditions worsened. The trip was a waste of money and time.

Horrible. Do not go see this man if you want to remain healthy.
