Dr. Michael S Lovoi, MD

12-15 years ago, Dr. LaVoi was the go-to doctor I told all my family and friends to use. Not anymore. He packs his waiting room with so many people you are waiting a long time. In addition, he spends less than 3-5 minutes with you in the exam room. After my dad got out of the hospital, he asked me to tell him what was going on; he said he didn't have time to read the hospital notes. I would not recommend him unless you like to be a number. His staff is super friendly, and kind, but I'm not happy about their lack of return phone calls, incorrect lab orders, and their communication skills are poor.

My husband likes Dr Lovoi but his office staff is not helpful and they are not very nice.

Love Dr. Lovoi. Very knowledgeable and thorough, but I'm concerned about the office. They don't post the hours for the Corsica location. (Closed Wednesdays at noon.) No one answers the phone. The mail box is always full so no one knows to return a call. Very difficult to receive answers to questions and get lab instructions sent to outside labs.

I was extremely sick with COVID and could not get a hospital room. Dr. Lovoi got me medication and the IV in a timely manner. He also called everyday to check in me and would adjust medication as he needed. After 5 months I still have lung problems and I trust Dr. Lovoi with all test and prognosis.

I have been sitting in the patient room for 1 1/2 hours AFTER my scheduled appointment with my 87 year old mother. Watching others come and go. If I could score lower I would! Not to mention in the middle of Covid, you'd think they'd be more attentive!

My mom has been in the hospital since the 12th waiting from her pathology report from Lavoi. They claimed they sent the report but had not. The oncologist at hospital has not begun treatment because he can’t get that report and here it is the 18th. My sister had to call and get after the nurses/front desk to send to oncologist. My sister then called the oncologist to let them know that Lavoi’s office did have the report. THE RECEPTIONIST told my sister it was carcinoma (which is a huge no no) but would not tell us what kind. We still struggle to get the report at this moment. If this could give negative scores I’d give that. QUACK, quack, quack.

Please advocate for your loved ones with this doctor. My mom went to him. She likes. He dismissed every claim that my mom had saying she still had the flu. She got over the flu with his help. BUT my mother was still ill. She couldn’t eat, had high and low heart rate and blood pressure. Despite repeated appointments and calls, he continued to blow my mother off until she was hospitalized due to dehydration that was SO BAD, she was near kidney failure. He also, during this time of illness, while not listening to the fact she was telling him she could not eat, cut a cyst out from under her arm. He did this without byopsy. I should also back up and say that, Lavoi only FINALLY did blood work on my mother when we told him her cardiologist was trying to get bloodwork done (not cardiologist job) but mom was to week to do it. I digressed, there is so much... anyway he got the pathology report back on the cyst he thought he didn’t need to byopsy because it was benign and it IS CANCER. A FAST… GROWING METASTATIC CANCER. Everyone knows you don’t cut on people with cancer. He does not listen even to family who come with. My sister had to get mean before he would stop blowing mom off.

Dr. Lovoi really takes his time with you. He listens and really cares about the patient. I've continued to see Dr. Lovoi for over 10 years and wouldn't go elsewhere. His new PA Johnny is great too!!!

Dr Lovoi could be a good doctor IF you could see him and not his PA who has given my husband and myself.bad care. If they send you for tests there is no timely communication as to the results . You remain in limbo for a month or six weeks until they can schedule a consultation and collect a fee for the office visit. Even then your questions are often ignored by the PA. Requests to the dr to see only the doctor are supposed to be respected but after a two hour wait you end up seeing his incompetent PA. My advice is to continue looking for a doctor who doesn't allow his PA to run his practice but is hands on and cares about his patients,
