Dr. Michael H Marotta

Dr. Mike Marotta grew up in the greater Cleveland area. Upon graduation from Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1984, he returned to Cleveland, where he entered a two-year general practice residency at MetroHealth Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Marotta received advanced training in all facets of dentistry, with special emphasis in the care of pediatric patients and those with special needs. From 1986 to 1991, he was a member of the teaching staff in the Department of Dentistry at MetroHealth and was an instructor in Community Dentistry with Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry.
In 1989, Dr. Marotta opened his private practice in Westlake, Ohio. He has always been committed to continuing education, and in the years following, he invested considerable time in the advanced study of orthodontics, non-surgical treatment of gum disease, implants, and cosmetic dentistry.
In 1994, Dr. Marotta received the prestigious Fellowship Award of the Academy of …General Dentistry. The Academy is the second largest dental organization in North America and unlike other dental organizations, ongoing education is a requirement of membership. In 2005, Dr. Marotta was awarded the highest level of recognition in the Academy, the Mastership Award. In total, this award requires 1,000 hours of continuing education in specified areas of study and special review of credentials by the Academy.
Dr. Marotta takes special interest in the needs of patients with anxiety about dental treatment. He has pursued advanced education in oral sedation techniques. For patients requiring extra help, he has established a relationship with a dental anesthesiologist. His philosophy and that of the entire team is to deliver care in a compassionate nonjudgemental environment.
Dr. Marotta is also a member of the America Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, the Greater Cleveland Dental Society, the United States Dental Institute, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Ohio Academy of General Dentistry, and has participated in several dental study Clubs. He is also active in his community through the Celebrate Westlake Event and the D.A.R.E. program, RAM Ohio (Remote Area Medical), as well as various other charitable organizations.
