Dr. Michael John Martinez, MD

Absolutely horrendous personality. He will lie to your face and deny it later when you report him. Likes to behave in intimidating fashion so you don’t ask questions, total bully. He delivered a cancer diagnosis via a 6 minute phone call, where he spit out technical jargon, gave no explanations, and allowed for no questions. My husband and I tried to get clarity, but he refused to communicate. He will gatekeep information about your diagnosis. He works at the VA and treats veterans with contempt.

Dr. Martinez is rude and defensive. My life threatening condition was not a surgical one and obvious mistakes were made by his staff. He basically was not interested in taking care of me and his staff told me he had too many patients. He cruelly told me I was terminal but when I changed doctors I learned my condition was easily treated. Martinez is not a compassionate doctor.

He removed my left kidney and large tumur all very carefully without spreading any cancer cells from the tumur. He is an expert in his field and good bedside manners. Highly recommended.

Dr. Martinez is best doctor I've ever visited. I can't believe the one negative comment by disatisfied patient. This patient, I am sure, cannot have a good word about anyone. I have talked to several patients and all say Dr. Martinez is the best. Other doctors say Dr. Martinez is best surgeon.

If your problem is not one which he thinks is important or one which will make him a lot of money, then expect to be ignored. He seems to focus on patients which he can operate on and make the really big bucks. Barbaric prostate removals are very profitable because of what the insurance company pays. Infections and preventative medicine is far less profitable. What a surprise. My experience was one of delay, and missed promises. Then finally after making many calls, I was politely told by his assistant that he is too busy with surgeries and other cases to see me. That guy wasted 2 weeks of my time and delayed resolution of my recurring infections.If you are a candidate for biopsies or surgery then he will probably be happy to take your insurance money. But I'll bet he will never tell you about 'needle tracking' or HIFU. Why deter a source of big income by telling how biopsies spread cancer, or about the safer alternative to barbaric surgery.

Dr. Martinez is very professional and personalble. I was very nervous about my kidney stones and procedures to cure them but he thoroughly explained everything to me and I was at total ease. He is very easy to talk to and truly cares about his patients. I would highly recommend him to my family and friends.

Dr. Martinez was great at not only taking care of the medical end of my cancer, but also at making sure I was doing well as an individual. He really made me feel optimistic about the outcome of my surgery.
