Michael J. McNulty, M.D. received his orthopaedic sports medicine training under the guidance of Dr. James Andrews at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. While there, he assisted in the orthopaedic care of the Washington Redskins, University of Alabama, Troy University, Alabama Ballet and the Birmingham Barons and Montgomery Biscuits minor league baseball teams. He also underwent advanced orthopaedic trauma training through AO International in Auckland, New Zealand. He completed his orthopaedic training and attended medical school at the University of Texas-Southwestern in Dallas, Texas and is also a graduate of the University of Virginia. Dr. McNulty's orthopaedic interests include arthroscopic and minimally invasive treatment of shoulder, elbow, hip and knee disorders as well as extremity fracture care.

Have seen Dr. McNulty several times over the years and I always recommend him to family and friends. He takes his time and actually listens and his practical and thoughtful insight and treatment has helped numerous times. I usually don't have to wait long to see him. My only complaint about Southern Orthopedics is the parking situation in Metairie is difficult.

I was able to get an appointment same day for a knee injury. Dr McNulty was very thorough and gave very good advice on recovery time and what I should do.

Excellent doctor. Good Listener. Spends time with patient. Explains condition and gives follow-up treatment recommendations. Professional and a nice guy. Highly recommend.

Was pleased with the time he took to understand my issues. Explained to me what seemed to be not so serious of a problem and I should be fine with the shot & meds. Confidence , easy to talk to and I left feeling that it was not a rush visit. Thank you sir for making my mind at ease.

Haley did a great job taking out my stitches. Dr. McNulty is very easy to talk to about my procedure and the results of it. I would recommend him to anybody who needs anything done with knees or shoulders. His has worked on both of these for me.
