Dr. Michael E Mintz, PhD

Dr. Mintz evaluated our 3½-year-old for an initial developmental assessment due to concerns about delays in speech and social communication skills. We had a very positive experience throughout the appointment. Dr. Mintz was punctual and began the evaluation right on time. He was patient with our child, focused on the various tests and assessments, and attentive to our questions and responses. There were three adults present (both parents and an aunt), and Dr. Mintz took the extra effort to ensure everyone could participate, even though the hospital’s policy typically allows only two adults. Our child usually does not enjoy doctor visits, but this was the first appointment where our child had a consistently positive experience throughout the evaluation. Regarding the assessment itself, Dr. Mintz confirmed our suspicion of an ASD diagnosis. He shared this information in a professional and compassionate manner. He encouraged us to ask questions and provided helpful guidance and… resources to support us in understanding the next steps. After the appointment, he promptly sent us the draft report and remained approachable and responsive during follow-up communication. Although this was our first time meeting Dr. Mintz and receiving a diagnostic assessment like this can be difficult, we truly felt supported and heard both during the appointment and afterward.
