Dr. Michael V Persaud, DO

I went in for an Upper GI. The procedure went fine and the Dr. stated there was no problems. I still have my symptoms and was told to contact my Cardiologist.....I already seen a Cardiologist.

We waited a month to get in with this doctor. After getting in he was rude, angry, and unprofessional about having to see me. After getting results from the test he told me to eat a better diet and he’ll see me again in a couple months. 2 months later a different doctor informs me that the results from that test says I have liver failure. The time this doctor made me wait was time I did not have. It resulted in a tremendous decline in my health with serious complications. This doctor does not care about his patients at all. Do NOT go to this doctor.

When I was telling him about the symptoms I'd been having he kind of smirked at me and said "your labs are so insignificantly elevated, I'm not even sure why Dr. xxxxxx referred you to me" He did order an ultrasound of my abdomen however it's been a week now and he still hasn't followed up with me on the results of the ultrasound.

I am in a lot of abdominal pain on a regular basis. I had to see a doctor fast and I'm new to the area. I was referred to Dr. Persaud by another Gastroenterologist who couldn't see me for 8 weeks. Now I know why Dr. Persaud had an opening. He was condescending, dismissive and rude. He made me get completely naked under the hospital gown for a simple abdominal exam. If my husband wouldn't have been there with me I never would have consented. During a scope procedure he bruised my top lip, made it bleed in several places and caused my bottom lip to swell up massively. I still can't feel a part of my bottom lip due to nerve damage. When I spoke to my anesthesiologist about my mouth he said that Dr. Persaud must have been careless with the mouth guard inserted before the scope is used. Because of this he damaged my mouth permanently. After several painful tests he put me on a medication I had already been on for years and had negative reactions to. He refused to consider a… different medication even after I tried to express my concerns. I then called his nurse begging for a different medication. She was short, rude and dismissive and just told me I didn't have to take it but that was his only recommendation. After two weeks on the medicine I finally stopped it due to worsening symptoms. Dr. Persaud never called me to follow up on any of my labs, test results or diagnosis. I waited for three painful weeks before finally calling his office. Only after calling several times did I finally get a call back. When I came in for a follow up he hadn't read my file or gone over my test results. Additionally, while explaining MY "unclear" diagnosis, he would only speak to my husband even though I was sitting not three feet from the man. He laughed at me. And then proceeded to tell me that there was nothing he could do and to go see my regular doctor. It was a complete waste of time and money. He is a horrible doctor, diagnostician and as uncompassionate as they come. I will never go see him again. Neither should you.

Wait time to see him is horrible and once you are in the room he does not listen to you. He likes to interrupt you and will not get your whole story and symptoms before he is ready to move onto the next patient.

I have grown increasingly disappointed with my time at Dr. Persaud's office. I regularly spend an hour and a half or more at his office, only 5-10 minutes of which are actually with the Dr. or his nurse, and most of the time is waiting. The event that recently tipped the scales for me was their poor follow up and communication which caused me to miss 5 straight doses of my prescription because they would not verify for the pharmacy they could refill it. Very bad since this is the first time in 4 and a half years I have had a flare up, so totally should not be missing my meds. On that note, also called to tell them I was having symptoms, including blood in my stool. I was scheduled to see Dr. for my regular 6 month check up in 7 weeks at the time I called and they could only move me up a week, so I still had to wait 6 weeks of having blood in my stool and other symptoms before he would see me!

Although this is a very competent doctor, his staff is just so rude and abrupt, like they are doing you a HUGE favor by helping you out at all. Billing is a nightmare - have to fight about every charge. Appts are double booked, so wait time is usually very long

Dr Persaud is very thorough and detailed in his work. Very very competent. Found my mothers cancel in a very difficult location in the bowel.

I was having difficulty with acid reflux. Dr. Persaud identified the problem, treated it with a prescription and told me what foods to avoid. I am feeling so much better!

Most uncaring professional we've ever encountered. Not only was his bedside manner horrible, he discharged a patient with a new cancer diagnosis without even a referal.
