Dr. Michael James Petr, MD

During a spinal fusion, Dr. Petr tore a hole in my spinal column. I was never told of my condition. I spent that night in agony. No pain meds. I was as very hot and could not eat. I did not like being a Flagler Hospital. My pain level had increased and I felt a sharp stabbing pain in my back. At the point I could barely able to walk. I was operated on by a different from Petr at a different hospital. Bad JuJu with Petr.

In Sept. will be 18 months since Dr. Petr did my disc removal surgery with replacemet in my neck. I was in terrible pain for months, other Doctors ignored me or gave me strong pain pills that left me unable to function, I was admitted to the hospital and Dr. Petr did my surgery. I am now pain free, All I can say is thank God for Dr. Petr. He gave me back my quality of life. He is the only Dr. I could reccomend.

This guy is the only surgeon I trust with any of my neuro needs.He's my hero.

Dr Petr saw symptoms that others dismissed, and acted quickly. He has performed two cervical surgeries and two craniotomies on me in 7 years. Although I am no longer operable, he still stays on my care team, he and his team check up on me, checks the tests I have done. To me that is a caring professional. In my experience, the lifesaving doctors don’t have the time to do the little things, yet I have got calls on a Sunday night from members of my professional teams just to ask me how I am feeling, or if they can help me in any way. Dr. Petr came to a hospital one day to see me when I was in for something totally unrelated to my neuro issues, to make sure I was okay. This to me is a real caring person. I feel I was blessed to have met Dr Petr and his staff (Gregg and Sheila) and all the wonderful people that work with and around them! I am not sure I would be here today without you all, maybe physically but you’ve saved my sanity too! Thank you for all you do!

I never got a call back after dropping off cd's of requested new Stat mri's and finally after multiple calls got a call back from his ARNP to be told that their is nothing that can be done for me. Was very excited during my one appointment with this doctor but the afterwards actions I got were not what was expected after I did all what was asked for me to do. I don't believe that is the doctor himself but more than likely his staff instead that did not properly handle my case and the seriousness of my situation. Was hoping for a better outcome
