Dr. Michael Frederick Pingree, MD

We have seen Doc Pingree for many years and have very much appreciated his care. Recently we had our annual visit... found it to be very discouraging. BEWARE of the dishonesty in their fees. We had a normal visit where we get our prescriptions renewed. I thought maybe I would try contacts at my age... my vision is changing. I paid at the end of my visit for my contact evaluation. I set up a new appointment to have contacts checked. Upon trying contacts at home, they did not work - they blurred my vision. Went back to see Doc Young(contact doc) and told them I did not want to do contacts. At that visit was told I would be refunded the amount that amount for a contact evaluation. Upon leaving even the gal in the office told me that the refund would come once doc Pingree was back from vacation. Today I call to follow up on this and they tell me there is no such thing!! No refund showing for this evaluation that I paid for. Doc young even said he put notes in the system for… the refund. Talk about Dishonesty!!!! There are not notes even. They tell you one thing and go against their word... lie to you that there were never any notes in the system. Not sure that this was fair and handled correctly. The funny thing is, I would have never called if they hadn't told me to call and follow up on the refund - to only find out they have changed what they originally said. I am a person of integrity - maybe they ought to think about that when working with patients as well. You would think they would be genuine to help patients , not take their money. Too bad what they say they will do doesn't have any sense of value in the world anymore! Watch out!!

I was referred to Dr Pingree from the emergency room doctor; His office staff was pleasant to work with, Dr. Pingree spent about an hour with me and then told me he did not know what was wrong with me, he said “ I was beyond his expertise” Felt like my time there was wasted. Then he charged me over 400 dollars. I understand he needs to be charged for his time. Really, 400 dollars to tell me he does not know what is wrong. I will not be going back to Dr. Pingree, and I recommend that you do not either.

He is THE BEST ever! He explained what cataract surgery entailed, adjusted for my oxygen needs and post-stroke, left-body weakness, erasing my fears and giving me a feeling of complete trust. He serves everyone with a spirit of joy. A very happy experience. . .

Dr. Pingree was amazing! I had LASIK eye surgery on both eyes. I am 100% satisfied! I recommend Dr. Pingree to everyone. He was efficient, knowledgeable, friendly. He answered all of my questions, explained the procedure and did a fantastic job!

I have been to several eye doctors in the Salt Lake area. I needed a place to take my son. The staff was friendly, I waited just a few minutes and Dr. Pingree new exactly what was happening. Dr. Pingree was very nice and took time to answer all of my many questions. When I left I felt empowered with information and very relieved. Since then I recommended my parents to visit Dr. Pingree and they agree that he is the best eye doctor.
