Dr. Michael Henry Polcino, MD

I went to several obgyn always feeling uncomfortable and Unhappy until I found doctor Polcino, he’s friendly, gentle and always treats you as a friend. I love this office and his staff members.

Was fine as a Gynecologist when I was only going for annual visits. However, once I became pregnant I was going weekly at first and they collected my copay ($40) each time, had an exorbitant amount of testing and labs sent out even thought I wasn't high risk. For my first trimester these bills totaled over $2000.. Completely unnecessary testing, I shouldn't have okayed any of it but it was presented as necessary testing. Felt used. Also, the wait times were over an hour.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever encountered at a medical office. I started seeing this office when i found out I was 4 weeks pregnant, and i was in this office more than 6 times. My insurance was being billed as an outpatient visit & emergency visits when neither of these were true and i got no explanation from the staff on why this has happened. I have waited for an appointment on more than one occasion for more than an hour, and my last visit was almost a 2 hour visit . I was diagnosed with a subchorianic bleed and sent to an imaging center to get a better idea what was gong on with higher resolution machines. During my next visit (7 days later ) I asked how my testing looked, and was told by the doctor he has not looked. UNREAL!!!!. From this moment i knew this was not the place for me at all! I went back to my last appointment and waited almost 2 hours to be told they needed more blood for a test they forgot to add to my labs after they took 13 vials of blood the… week prior and i was held responsible for the idiotic 10$ blood draw fee once again. I have never been charged a fee on top of the office visit to have my blood drawn ! upon the doctor walking in the door he asked if everything was okay, obviously it was written all over my face i was so fed up with this office. I preceded to tell dr. P i was unhappy wight he office, he never asked why just immediately said okay ill have your chart copied and you can go elsewhere. Then he told me there was some blood results that were out of range that were of extreme concern to me. When i asked for explanation of these results i was asked " should i explain them, or should your new doctor" no compassion at all !! he knew i was upset and made a statement no medical professional should ever say to a patient . I had my chart copied and was so upset, crying inconsolable and not one staff member asked if i was okay. On top of that the front desk SUCKS!!!! they are beyond rude , they argued with me in the packed waiting room over insurance and billing . There was one nice women with reddish/ brown hair the rest were awful . Needless to say I had the worst experience of my life in this office. I cried for an entire weekend and could barely eat because of the lack of empty this doctor and his staff showed me . I would give -5 stars if i was able too.

It's a beautiful office and the staff was nice but I waited an hour to see him. I needed blood work and a sonogram but neither one of those things could be done at his office so now I have to go somewhere else for blood and go back to him for a sonogram. That is ridiculous, who has time for that? it feels like they just wanna get you in for co-pays, it's a shame because he is super sweet and professional but I just don't have the time for that. I need answers and care right away, not the run around back and forth...

Some of the staff members are very friendly, however I was not satisfied with my experience there and will be looking for another gyn/ob I cannot comment on the Dr. himself because I have only meet him once for like 5 seconds, since then I have only seen the PA, whenever I ask to speak to the Dr he is unavailable. I don't know why I should be paying for a specialist that is never available, the PA is nice but I sometimes feel like they give me the round around so I keep having to go back even to go back.

Bedside manner is amazing

I went to Dr. Polcino as my OB and based off of unsubstantial medical evidence he told me that my baby was going to have down syndrome. Then, when I freaked out, he turned and blamed my mom's demeanor for my reaction! Clearly, it was the news and NOT my mom's demeanor. He also completely crossed the line and wouldn't just give me medical advice, but tried giving me very personal advice! It was completely inappropriate.

Dr. Polcino is awesome! On top of being very knowledgeable and thorough, he really listens and has a bedside manor that puts me completely at ease when I am in his care. His office staff is always so helpful and accommodating. I recommend him to every woman I know!

I have been going to Dr. Polcino for about 25 years. He is the best! He makes me feel so comfortable, great bedside manor and very upbeat personality. Yes he does sell things in his office, but you don't have to buy them. His office is spotless and the staff very sweet. When you have a problem, they take you right away. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I have been seeing Dr. Polcino for 12 years. He has always listened to me, taken a lot of time to explain things and make sure I am comfortable. If I am not sure of something, I ask, and he doesn't mind. he does tape record at the end of each visit instead of taking notes, but he tape records himself, not you. Staff and nurses are almost always wonderful. There's one receptionist at night who can be rude. My only complaint is he does sometimes try to "sell" things. Lotion with sunscreen in it, new procedures, etc. But I just always decline and that's that.
