Dr. Michael Donald Purkis

He is the worst doctor ever. I have had an underlying medical condition going on for some time now. He dismisses me very single time. I go in for an appointment regarding my conditions, only go in for lab work and never see him. I talk with the staff at the front desk more that I have talked with my doctor. He doesn’t show any interest or concern with what is going on with me. I never get called when my lab results come back or to schedule a follow up appointment. You have to really advocate for yourself, if not, nothing will get done. He makes you think its stress, anxiety, or your just down right crazy. Save your self from a huge headache and stay away! This is down right the most unprofessional individual I have ever experienced in healthcare.

He just 'fired me' with a letter in the mail because I didn't choose the course of treatment he recommended for my osteoporosis. I called 2 separate times this past week due to extreme side effects from the flu shot. Both times he had his staff tell me to go to the ER. I wanted to see my Primary Care Physician, not sit and suffer in an ER for 7 hours and receive enormous bills. I never did think he had a good 'bedside' manner which is why I mostly saw his NP. So in a nutshell, he refused to give me care. I am beyond speechless. Horrible, horrible Dr. who does NOT CARE about his patients.

No follow-up and wait time is always way over. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!

I took my elderly father for a appointment. He had two previous appointments and the office called and canceled twice one apt because the Dr was running behind another one because their system was down! We showed up for his appointment and updated his insurance information with the front office and we put down that he had a l new secondary insurance. The front office came back and said they didn't take his secondary insurance and they wouldn’t be able to see him? I asked if they could just bill his primary insurance and we could pay any co-payment if the primary insurance didn’t pay. They said No! I was so concerned because this was a follow up apt for my dad diabetes and asked if I could at least get his information for the appointment so I would know if he would be ok until I can find another Dr. They refused. I asked to speak to the office manager and they said she was busy and with a patient. I asked for records and they said they would have to charge us. Long story short they… don’t care about their patients and seem like there more concerned with money. Please save your time and money and find a Dr and office staff who care!!!

I have gone to Dr Pukis for many years and have absolutely no complaints. He's always been kind and a great Dr. As far as having to wait for appointments sometimes, you all need to be more patient when going to a doctor. I've worked in doctors offices, and you all have no idea of the constant demand put on the office workers. Many skipped breaks and constant stress.
