Dr. Michael John Quinn, MD

A Little late to write a review, but I was busy with several Surgeries, one of which was the replacement of the botched knee replacement done by Dr. Quinn. New surgeon, Dr. J. Gililland of the U of U told me and my son that the knee was "grossly unstable". The IT Band was "Highly Inflamed" and the whole surgery failure was caused by "Bad Technique." I was back to the U of U Hosp. in a week and had Dr. Gililland do the re-replacement. I have an ugly scar, a longer instrumentation in the leg and numbness and still the IT Band is causing problems and pain. Dr. Gililland was so professional and pleasant as opposed to Dr. Quinn. Dr. Gililland did a wonderful surgery to help me walk without pain. All this after I visited Dr. Quinn three times with complaints about the knee after surgery. He never x-rayed the knee and stated each time that the knee "presented beautifully." Later, in his defense and my complaints, he stated in writing that he "offered to x-ray the knee." Total untruth. … I went to him for expert advie regarding the knee pain following surgery. He did not send me for x-ray and I foolishly assumed he knew what he was doing. I have several surgeons and physicians at the U of U Hosp. and Orthopaedic centers now. From my personal experience with Dr. Quinn, I advise anyone and anybody not to have surgery done where Dr. Quinn Does surgery.

He misdiagnosed my ankle injury which resulted in a delay for my surgery. When I finally had my ankle repaired, I discovered he had also misdiagnosed my knee injury two years ago, which has caused me years of unnecessary pain. Very bad reputation throughout town. This man also has an incredible ego problem which not only interferes with his ability to do his job, but makes a visit with him even more intolerable.

This doctor misdiagnosed a serious fracture in my ankle and it has completely devestated me and irreversibly affected my life. I’m 26 years old.

I'm sorry I didn't know about this site. Quinn did a terrible job on my knee replacement. I'm in constant pain. Worse than before. My leg is crooked and he said,"see you in a year". I'm devastated. I probably can never ride my horse again.

I have suffered for 6 months, until i got insurance finally, he tell me my i have arthritis, Ive known that for years, I tell him pain is real bad, He says I arthritis just deal with it. you have ant tried swimming or bike, doesn't listen, only goes by the xray, it even shows bone spurs, and still does nothing like give me a shot for the pain. I did two days off his swimming first day 30 minutes and the pain was so bad only 10 minutes the next day couldn't do anything call him each telling him somethings wrong didn't care.

Surgery was fine but don't expect a follow-up whatsoever if there are any complications. We will see if the surgery fixes the initial problem but at this point, it doesn't look promising.
