Dr. Michael Joseph Rauzzino, MD

After struggling with severe back pain and limited mobility for quite some time, I was referred to Dr. Michael Rauzzino—and I’m incredibly grateful. My condition was complex, involving a collapsed disc along with spinal instability, spondylolisthesis, and stenosis that made everyday activities like walking or even standing upright extremely difficult. Dr. Rauzzino took the time to thoroughly explain what was happening, walking me through imaging, the progression of my condition, and why an ALIF procedure was the best path forward. He answered every question with patience and clarity, which gave me a strong sense of trust going into surgery. The entire experience—from diagnosis to surgery to follow-up—was handled with professionalism and care. Renata Duran was amazing in coordinating everything quickly, and Derrick Winckler, PA-C, provided excellent post-op care and made the recovery process feel much more manageable. Now in recovery, I’m already seeing meaningful improvement in my… mobility and overall quality of life. I truly felt supported every step of the way. If you’re dealing with serious back issues and want a surgeon who is both highly skilled and genuinely cares about his patients, I would absolutely recommend Dr. Rauzzino.

I have been a patient of Dr. Rauzzino since 2009. He has performed a neck fusion and most recently a disk replacement to repair damage to my back after a car accident. I have been very pleased with the results of both surgeries. Before the last surgery I could barely walk 10 steps without horrible pain. I have recovered well and I can now golf and go hiking again. Dr. Rauzzino has a great bedside manner and always been very kind and patient with me. He spends time with me, listens to me and has always returned my phone calls promptly. Had ACDF surgery performed by M. Rauzzino, now I’m seeing an ENT for a paralyzed vocal cord and a Esophageal dysmotility(swallowing, nerve damage), with the loss of 20lbs. Had surgery for better voice recognition but with the closed vocal cord it has affected my breathing which I’m seeing a Pulmonologist for. Now I’m paying for all the ongoing medical care and the original surgery. Also Rauzzino was in network but his assistant and the Anesthesiologist were not in which I was notified of. All aspects of my life has suffered to no fault of my own.

I am 3 weeks post op from a Chiari Decompression Surgery performed by Dr. Rauzzino. After a 7 year battle with my disease, Dr. Rauzzino completed a surgery that gave me my life back. My quality of life pre-op had significantly changed due to my condition, impacting my family, children, fitness level and job. My Chiari had such a negative impact on my life that many days I had to fight to find the want to live. Waking up from surgery, I knew right away that Dr. Rauzzino had given me my life back. Dr. Rauzzino expertly performed an extremely delicate repair to my spinal membrane, which was leaking cerebro spinal fluid (caused by a previous surgeon's mistake during fusion surgery). The area was very difficult to reach, making ordinary stitching impossible, so he creatively applied a combination of “patch” options and kept watch over me in ICU until he felt confident that it would heal properly on its own—which it has. In addition, he is a kind, compassionate person and a great communicator. If you have a complicated situation, do not hesitate to contact him. There is definitely a reason he carries the title Chief of Neurosurgery at his hospital.

My experience was fantastic. The teams customer service skills were impeccable. His mannerism and bedside manners are above reproach. Because of my experience,I have reached out to others that have the same problems that I had with my cervical in Spine. Again I like to thank Dr. Michael Rauzzino and his staff for a job well done.

I had a 5 level disc removal and fusion in Dec. and now 4 months later I am doing very well. I had itch/burning on both forearms for a year caused by arthritis destroying my discs and impinging the nerves leading to my ams. I was absolutely miserable and Dr. Rauzzino, after tests, decided this is what I needed. After being recommended to me I would highly recommend him: very compassionate, informative, kind and an expert in his field. Of course there are no guarantees with surgery, but he was spot on. After an initial surgical consultation with ANOTHER doctor, I was frustrated and upset at the surgery suggestion that had nothing to do with MY body and problem. I then found Dr. Rauzzino who diagnosed me and my excruciating pain based on MY body and issue. Not only did I feel more comfortable with his surgical thoughts, but he did an EXCELLENT job describing the procedure and why it would help me.
