Dr. Michael John Rosner, MD

I know of at least 10 other neurosurgeons in 6 different states who were doing the same procedures as Dr. Rosner & NONE of them EVER lost their licesncseslet alone their board certification. He gets into trouble b/c his behavior when there is a complication. He is is a Charlatan in a clown suit.

Dr.Rosner is such a kind and caring Dr. From the 1st my family and I met him he has always Been there. He saved my life. He was always willing to listen. He's just a all around Good man. I love him as well as his staff.

Dr. Rosner is a godsend. I wonder why I waited to so long to get to North Carolina to see him. This man gave me my life back! I walked into the hospital on 13 medications. I was figuratively stitched together by pure will and adaptations on my part and many meds on my other doctors parts. I left the hospital on one permanent medication. Today I'm a new person. Day one after surgery I was already seeing improvement of my symptoms. There is no cure for Chiari, and Dr. Rosner knows that. He's just trying to give us the best possible life we can have through surgery as the primary treatment. He does his best to treat the root cause of the issues instead of slapping "Band-Aids" on them and masking them with medications. My husband and I knew going in that was no guarantee. The day I was discharged from the hospital, My husband cried happy tears. neither of us thought we'd ever see the day that I'd be relieved of as many of my symptoms. Dr Rosner is a miracle in my life. Everyday I'll be… thankful to him and his ability to think outside the box to help me find a life I didn't know I could live. A life that doesn't include hundreds of pills and needing to take naps like a toddler throughout the day. I'll be forever thankful to him. I am not over exaggerating when I say he saved my life.

Dr. Rosner is amazing. His entire staff is kind and capable. Dr. Rosner is the smartest most thorough doctor I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen plenty. He takes time to listen and explains options and I will never trust another NS.

Dr. Rosner is an extremely knowledgeable in his field - focusing solely on Chiari Malformation. His staff is very attentive and caring. The office has always answered the phone when I called and taken the time to help me. They have always returned my calls or emails within 24 hours. He does not overbook! He does a CM surgery at least once a week, ongoing for over 2 decades, When going in for decompression surgery, you want that knowledge and experience. He was the 3rd NS I saw, and in meeting him at my first appt (3.5 hours long - almost the whole appt was spent talking to him and included a very detailed physical/neuro exam) I knew he was the man I trusted to touch my brain. I, to my great surprise, trusted in him so much, I was not afraid of brain surgery! I had surgery 9/11/13. I have not been released from his care. Think about that. He didn't operate and send me on my way, he is still my doctor!! If I need anything, he is always going to be there for me. If I had to do it… again, I would have NO reservations about him performing the surgery, and if I could, I would send every single person suffering with CM to him. HE IS WORTH HIS WEIGHT IN GOLD. **NOTE: as for his 1 star review - please disregard it. It's not even worth the explanation. Meet Dr. R and you will see. He is a true gem in the Chiari field.

Unnecessary surgery on a very mentally ill person, my sister. Numerous other doctors in a couple of states refused more surgery on her. He did it, and she died in 2013. Really research; there is a lot of negative material on him, including the Univ of Alabama terminating its agreement to do surgeries at its facility.

Dr. Rosner is a superb doctor. He listens to his patients (a rarity among neurosurgeons) and has developed an excellent understanding of how spinal or cerebellar compression can affect a patient. He performed surgery on me and did an excellent job. He was very honest about the risks and controversy surrounding some of his procedures, and he was remarkably accurate in predicting my outcome. I'm glad I found him.
