Dr. Michael J Runo, PhD

Dr. Runo is a very kind understanding therapist, he has worked with me for over a year with my anxiety, which I can now say is gone without the use of medication. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

At my request, my ex and I were required to be psychologically evaluated by court order during our custody evaluation. The GAL assigned to the case ordered this to be done by Dr Runo due to his "low price". I told Dr. Runo my story, gave him a 6 inch thick binder of evidence and a list of approx 30 witnesses that could attest to my exes abusive nature which included my exes own mother, several siblings, ex-wife, ex-fiances, co-workers and more. Unfortunately Dr. Runo did not follow-up with any contacts except one who is my exes other "baby mama" who herself described years of abuse. Dr. Runo did not include any of this information in his final report. I basically spoonfed Dr. Runo a sociopath and he greatly missed the mark. I believe Dr. Runo did not take our case seriously and in turn my son's future as well as my own were in great jeapordy. Thank God the Guardian assigned to the case saw there was more to the story and did a complete investigation. Due to her thorough work she… felt my ex should not be allowed unsupervised visitation with my son.. God Bless her!!!! Of course being the sociopath he really is my ex did not want it on record that a court was not going to allow him unsupervised visitation with his own son and the visiation was to be done and overseen by a third party facility and he did not want the court testimony of the 30 witnesses I had subpeonaed (who Dr. Runo failed to contact although I provided him with all full names, phone number and many email address and home addresses), many who I never met but who all had been victims of my exes abuse both directly and indirectly. At the final hearing the Judge included a no contact order that keep both my son and I safe from my exes harrassment. So in summary, even with Dr. Runo's being charmed by my ex and dropping the ball, the Guardian and the Judge still saw the monster my ex is. Any type of professional evaluation is given a good amount of weight in court so for a court to disregard Dr. Runo's report shows how much he really did miss the mark. I would not recommend Dr. Runo for cases involving children or the safety and well-being of anyone. I believe Dr. Runo lacks passion and a true desire to protect those in danger. He overlooked red flags and many warning signs that could have landed my son in an abusive man's hands, psychologically, emotionally, verbally and sexually. I thank God every single day for that Guardian!!!!
