Summary

I've enjoyed being a pediatrician for Kaiser Permanente members since 2000. I finished my residency and moved to Portland in 1997. I enjoy seeing and helping kids grow from infants to teenagers, and being a consultant to people who have the hardest job there is; being a parent.

I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and spent 12 years of college and medical training in the Midwest, before finally "making it" to the West Coast. I live in downtown Portland with my wife and two sons. We enjoy travel, theater, live music and just about all sports: playing, watching, and coaching.

About my practice

Continuity of care is important to me, so I make my best effort to see my patients if at all possible, especially for health-maintenance visits and serious issues. I accept that I am a consultant to parents; I present information as clearly as I can, often have suggestions, but accept the parents' right to decide.

My extra work outside of the office is attending resuscitations and seeing newborns in the hospital. But I also enjoy seeing the older teens, and feel that variety is one of the very exciting things about pediatrics. How I thrive

I thrive by exercising regularly, especially jumping on my bike whenever I can. I enjoy being very involved in my sons' activities, including coaching sports and volunteering at their school. I thrive by protecting my life outside of medicine and leaving the office behind at the end of the day or week.

I try to get out to hear live music, and wish they'd start shows a bit earlier in the evening. I'm especially interested in the local music scene, and make compilation CDs every year for my more musically-inclined friends and family.

And fitting for a kids doctor, I've recently rediscovered my interest in collecting baseball cards. I dabble in the newer cards, but really enjoy cards from 1951-1975.

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews

Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.

Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.

Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
