I regret I ever went to this doctor. I had to have 3 surgeries in 6 months and now I have permanent nerve damage and no use of my arm or hand. The first surgery, I had a rotator cuff tear and bicep tendon tear repair. After 3 months my shoulder froze and I had to go in for the 2nd surgery to remove scar tissue and manual manipulation to get my mobility back. When I awoke from anesthesia after the 2nd surgery I asked the nurse why my arm stuck out and didn't lay by my side and she dismissed it as swelling and bandages. From there I had to go to Baylor Rehab for more exercises and I asked them the same thing and got the same answer. I called the doctor's emergency number the first thing Saturday morning as the pain was unbearable and was not manageable and I told him I felt disabled but I was dismissed and he said to take a double dosage until the pain is under control and go back to a single dose as soon as possible. I called the office the Monday after my surgery telling the rep… something wasn't right and I needed to talk to a nurse. A nurse never called after I left two messages. During all this time I was in excruciating pain. Even my first post-op I was telling the doctor how much pain I was in and again it was dismissed as, "well it's a painful surgery". The doctor was rushed and I had to ask him if he was going to take out my stitches. He lowered the collar of my blouse and said, "ok they're ready" and he took them out. I never got a chance to tell him what was going on with me without getting dismissed. On my 6-week follow-up the physical therapist wrote a letter to the doctor saying I needed further diagnostic testing. The physical therapist also called and left a couple of messages and never received a return call. I was sent to X-ray and sure enough my arm bone, the humerus bone, was dislocated from my shoulder and sitting in a spaghetti of nerves. The doctor tells me I have to go into emergency surgery. The doctor blames me for the dislocation but I know what I felt and my arm would not lay down by my side and stuck out from the time I woke up from anesthesia on the 2nd surgery until I went in for the 3rd surgery. The doctor will not take any accountability about my disability. Even when I had the 3rd surgery the doctor never visited me in the hospital as I had to spend the night in the hospital. I have never had a procedure in the hospital especially an in patient where the doctor didn't come see me and talk with me while I was coherent. Since this is a state hospital and a state employee the doctors can apparently maim and disable their patient for life and the patient has no recourse since the tort reform laws went against the people.
