Dr. Michael James Schlitt, MD

I had an appointment with him to discuss my back pain. Was he rude? I don't think so, straight forward and not much for joking, but nice. I scheduled another appointment with him so my husband could be there to ask questions also. He also admired Dr. Schlitt. I had first decided against surgery, but because of the constant pain I was in (could not sit, stand or walk), and the numbness, it really was no longer an option of NOT having it. I remember my husband telling me about hearing hospital workers at the hospital (Valley Medical) speaking about him - that it was nothing but praise. He came in to see me the next day after surgery and apologized for not showing up sooner, we had a nice visit. I won't lie, recovery SUCKED, it was hard and the first several days were brutal. Eventually it all worked out and I would say I'm pretty much 100%. I would definitely recommend him.

i believe a doctor doesnt have to get in your face and yell.this doctor has no buisness being in this kind if wrk he should be in the army cause thats exacty how he treats people like hes a drill seargent..you are very mean and have no compassion for people who hurt...its your way or no way..doesnt even give a person a chance to talk

i cancelled my surgery with doctor.hes the most rude and mean doctor ive ever been to..he made me cry for 30 minutes yelling at me he scares me to death finally my sister stopped him from being so mean and screaming at me..this would have been my 1st surgery with him i have had 6 back surgieries in 4 years.but this surgery will not be done by this doctor..horrible with patients no bed side manner and doesnt give a crap if he hurts your feelings it was like seeing a drill seargent

3 of my cervical vertebrae had collapsed, I was in a world of hurt. He was straight forward and spot on. He does not suffer fools, this is true but I loved this about him. He was NOT condescending and seemed to appreciate that I had done my research and not seem at all threatened about it(highly unusual). I believe the surgery was back in 2006 and has stayed "fixed" no complaints, very faint scar in a natural crease of my neck. AWESOME physician! I am looking him up because I have a dear friend who needs him desperately.

Doctor said Has Done surgery on Me 3 times I know something he's rude I kind of did in the beginning but I've grown to love him he's straightforward honest and my neck is great he's a good doctor if you can't handle honesty don't go to him he doesn't sugarcoat it that's for sure good doctor

He was the rudest and most obnoxious doctor I have ever been to.. Did not give good advice.. His opinions were the only ones that mattered. I would not recommend him to anyone....

I had surgery with Dr Schlitt in 2005 for a bulging disc in my neck. In 2015 I started having lower back and leg pain. I always liked him because he is brutally straight forward with you. Being overweight most of my doctors have skirted the issue but Dr. Schlitt does not. He tells you the honest truth but not rudely. He also explains everything in plain English without making you feel stupid. I have learned so much about the spine and how it works and what I need to do to correct my issues from him! He is definitely a doctor you want to see if you have back or neck issues.

Outstanding doctor and surgeon. He operated on my Pineal brain tumor and i am well on to recovery. Office and hospital visits were great. Diagnosis and plan for getting through this ordeal could not have gone better. He has given me a great chance to beat this. i thank God I have him as my doctor!

I went to Dr. Schlitt for a second opinion based on a referral from a previous patient when I was facing cervical spine fusion surgery. Dr. Schlitt spent a lot of time with me going over everything and explained several options I had that my original surgeon did not mention. Long story short, I chose to switch to Dr. Schlitt and I was not sorry. He fused 3 vertebrae in my neck and I have had no further problems these past 10 years. My pain is gone and he restored full use of my arms and hands. I would not hesitate to call upon him again should the need arrive.

He told me I needed surgery and was borderline threatening about what would happen to me if I did not get it. He did not like being asked questions and seemed hostile. I went to another neurosurgeon who told me I did not need surgery. This doctor caused me a lot of unneccessary anxiety.
