Dr. Michael Patrick Schmidt, MD

I was referred to Dr. Schmidt by my GYN. I went to his office as a walk in patient (a feature that I thought was going to be awesome........), was greeted with heavy sighs and irritation, though I was seen. Dr. Schmidt was good. I did like him. His office staff on the other hand leaves so much to be desired. To echo other reviews, the referral for a ct scan took over a week to get done (I am actually still waiting), and the results from an ultrasound were supposedly left on a voicemail that I never received. I have no record of any phone call being received at the time and date I was told it was left. I made sure to check before I called to give the benefit of the doubt. I was very rudely assured that because they wrote it down it happened. Furthermore, an appointment for something completely different from what I went in for was cancelled without my notification - because I had already come in. Not for the same thing mind you. It's unfortunate. I really wanted to like this… doctor. It is too bad the staff runs off his patients.

I changed primary care physicians as I didn't like my old doc. I'm so glad I found Dr. Schmidt. He was very thorough and honest - a good doctor and I will definitely recommend him. His staff could use some personality buffering though - but I've been to other physicians' offices where the staff was even worse.

RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL DOCTOR

I like this Doctor. I found him to be knowledgeable, thorough and on point. I did not feel rushed, he took his time and listened to all symptoms. Doctor Schmidt is great and so was his PA, also great.

I was a new patient here and at first I had no problem with the doctor. However, I am leaving the office because of a situation that happened in his office. The doctor gave me a referral for a specialist. The referral time should be 48 hours, however it took this office three weeks to give me the refferal. During this three week period, I visited the office three times and called numerous other times asking them about it. At first they said that they had receptionists that were incapable of giving me a refferal and were training a new reception is for it. Three weeks later I finally got the refferal that said that it was submitted two days prior and the expiration date on the refferal was coming up. I called the place that they sent me and they didn't have any appointments for another three weeks. When I called the doctors office and told them about my problem, they said that if I didn't like it then I should change my doctor. I am disgusted and would not recommend this office to… anyone.

Besides waiting in his empty front waiting room for a half an hour, My blood was drawn by a nurse with no gloves who proceeded to poke me 3 times before she was able to effectively draw blood. I sent more time talking to the Nurse in training who was very nice and attentive, just to have this doctor come in, not look me in the eyes one time, not address any of the issues I described to his aid, then leave after 5 minutes telling me I am fine and to come back in 6 months..... Down right horrible, seemed more worried about his entire staff of young ladies than any patient that was waiting.

Horrible office and staff

Waiting room area small and very warm. Dr. won't speak to you after hours. He won't read anything you write to him or bring to him to read to him. He makes you feel rushed. He won't prescribe any benzo drug for anxiety under any conditions. He made me suffer for 4 months before a long term anti-anxiety drug kicked in & finding the right one took time. For a cholesterol blood test he doesn't have you fast which he should.

The front desk staff is completely unprofessional and incompetent. They have no compassion or the patients and have no remorse for repeatedly inconveniencing people due to their repeated errors is wrong referrals, wrong information on prescriptions and yes the wrong patient charts.Your private information is discussed loudly in the office. Not good .... good help not here...

I always have an enjoyable experience at my appointments beginning with the nurses at the front counter that go above and beyond to assist me and ending with a doctor who genuinely cares about my well being. I was very impressed overall the last time I visited and can't imagine going anywhere else. Continue making a difference, it's appreciated greatly.
