Dr. Michael Patrick Shea, MD

I saw Dr. Shea for my ankle. I am diabetic and ended up having 8 surgeries for stripped ligiments in my ankle. He never gave up. Fused ankle, bone graph and screws in heal. Awesome doctor!

I came to Dr. Shea being suggested by an orthopedist I have had for 15 years. He was leaving practice. I was referred by my Rheumatologist I was nervous changing doctors in mid stream with an ongoing foot problem. He spent lots of time. Went over xrays I had sent and talked to me about what he saw. I had more xrays and he saw me again. My problem was worse then I thought. I was given all the options although surgery is probably the best option. I then tried on a boot and he came in again. Together we decided to try a brace first and schedule the surgery when it is practical to do so. I am very glad I found him. I might add that I am a Medical Research Librarian by profession.

Dr. Shea was my second opinion and I wish he had been my first. I had reconstructive foot surgery on my left foot and will be having the right one done later this fall. He is the best!! Don't take your foot problems to anyone else.

Awesome bedside manner. I was sent to Dr Shea by another orthopedic who was moving to Ohio. So happy he recommended Dr Shea.

Terrible. I got CRPS from his surgery and he did not know the symptoms of it. Honestly didn't feel he cared; not a good listener. Thinks he is funny to mash area of limb again when you tell him yes, that hurts there. Worse decision was choosing him for surgery.

Great Dr! He researched what I had going on and followed up with me or at least had a nurse keep in touch with me. Spent a lot of time in the room with me discussing all my many options and did not push for surgery at all. He gave me the option but alway reminded me that there were other things to try first. I would recommend Dr. Shea to anyone with foot or ankle problems! Thank you!

Had I known then what I know now, I would have never come here, I have as much discomfort as before surgery.

Dr. Shea is rude,terrible bedside manner, not good at discussing the issues and does not explain thoroughly. I have gone there for 9 mos. and had surgery and he seems to not recall me whenever I see him. Keeps you waiting a long time and very short visit, just leaves the room w/o saying you are finished. I have more pain 5 mos. after surgery.
