Dr. Michael Charles Slack, MD

My son had a heart procedure in 2004 by Dr. Slack. I will never forget how explained everything and made us so comfortable. He sat down with us and took his time with the details. After he came by often to check on my baby. All these years later anytime my son has a follow up, the doctor always says that Dr. Slack did a excellent job. My son is 14 now and doing great. I am forever grateful. I wish he was still at Children's hospital in DC.

I was extremely pleased with the care I received at University of Maryland's Pediatric Cardiology Department and specifically with Dr. Slack. He was knowledgeable, confident and took the time needed to explained the procedure he was recommending for me. I thought he was professional, caring and personable as well as getting high recommendations from other cardiologists in the Baltimore-DC area as the best in the area.

Dr. Slack's personality and overall attitude needs much improvement. He is very arrogant and condescending.

Dr. Slack provided us with his expert opinion on whether or not cardiac surgery was necessary on a 4 week-old baby that was in South Asia and as was being proposed by the doctors there. He reviewed the high quality images we had with us and told us that we should under no circumstance allow such surgery because the baby's condition (difficulty drinking milk) had nothing to do with the minor arterial aberration that she has. His advice proved correct and the baby is exceedingly healthy and energetic. We are very grateful for his willingness to give us his professional opinion based on the information we could provide, even though he could not examine the patient himself.
