Against my better judgement I followed my Dermatologists recommendation (Dr. Anderson in New Braunfels TX) to have a very small bump on my nose removed through Mohs surgery by Dr. Michael Sorace in April of 2022. I had the small bump for years and was not noticeable. I should have reconsidered after my first consultation with Dr. Sorace when he tried to use some sort of fear factor and said “you need to get this done as soon as possible as your nose may fall off”. I kid you not. I just looked incredulously at him and called him on that announcement, and he just chuckled. Anyway, after several weeks passed, I made an appointment for the procedure on a Friday as that was the only day he spent in New Braunfels. What I thought was going to happen and what took place were two different things. Instead of removing the small bump he laid open my entire nose. No one explained exactly what would take place beforehand or would have canceled the entire procedure!! I could elaborate more but… need to keep this message short. If you are considering any kind of Mohs surgery, please, please get all the facts and make sure it is absolutely necessary! My nose has never been the same let alone the appearance factor. It continues to turn red and oozes fluid that turns hard and crusty even after nearly 2 years. Am sure Dr. Sorace is competent in his specialty but lacks the bedside manor needed to take time with his patients. It seems everyone there is in a rush and has the appearance of a surgery factory running from room to room. For these reasons and more I do not recommend this practice.

Had Mohs surgery and am very happy with the results. He and his staff worked well as a team and total time was a lot less than other places I have been. He even called me at 6.30p the day of the surgery to make sure I was o.k.

Professional and very patient-focused with an equally professional and patient-focused staff. I could not have been more pleased with the results of my surgery and can’t say enough good about Dr Sorace and his staff.

The hole in my face was more than I expected Dr. Sorace got all the cancer and I was glad but the hole was disfiguring. Then Dr. Xia came in and I was already crying. He marked my face where he would need to cut more to close the hole. I didn't believe it could be done. Well that was Monday, this is Thursday and it's still healing and swollen but odds are you won't be able to even see the scar when it's healed. And my skin doesn't even looked pulled on or anything. These Doctors are a tremendous team.

Dr. Sorace is that which every doctor should be. I was married to a doctor and tend to be on the "picky" side, but I have never come across one that is pure perfection as he is. I had a MOHS surgery today and this evening, even called to see how I was doing! How many doctors call in person to do that?

It is RARE to find a Doctor that is so caring and excellent in his Practice as Dr. Sorace . Several in our family have been patients and all find it hard to truly express the gratitude and thankfulness we have toward him.

I had a squamous cell carcinoma on my nose removed by Dr. Sorace. Although it was a bit scary for me Dr. Sorace and his staff explained everything that was going to happen and tried to make the procedure as painless as possible. I received two phone call that evening from Dr. Sorace and Dr. Shaw to check on me and gave their cell numbers in case I needed anything. Getting the news that you have a form of skin cancer is not easy but having a compassionate and knowledgeable doctor to treat you is priceless. I highly recommend Dr. Sorace for your skin cancer treatment as he is the best!

Dr. Sorace is a very talented surgeon, and what makes him so unique is his personality, I guess you call it "bedside manner" I can't say enough good things about his practice. He did a procedure on my forehead to remove a large cyst, 2 years ago, no scar! No cyst! Thank you Dr. Sorace!

Had a suspicious mole removed. Dr Sorace was very professional. I would definitely recommend Dr. Sorace.
