I was referred to Dr. Michael Stagner (ophthalmology & retina issues) a few years ago by Dr. Kenneth Cohen, my excellent ophthalmologist who was retiring. I have a serious eye condition (toxoplasmosis) and was very happy to be recommended into the care of Dr. Stagner. He is seasoned and experienced with over 40 years in clinical practice. He taught me things about my condition I never knew, which are helpful in my continual monitoring of my condition. His bedside manner is wonderful, and he is calm, informative, professional, thorough, and trustworthy. He is patient and will happily discuss any concerns and answer every question. I saw Dr. Stagner at the Harlem location of Union Square Eye Care. The office is clean, bright, very calm, pleasant, and the staff are wonderful. I did not have to wait more than three minutes to see the doctor. There are optometrists on site, as well. Dr. Stagner highly recommended Luisa Prieto, OD, describing her as an ophthalmologist without the… surgical aspect and someone who had the skills and experience to monitor my condition if I needed to come in and he wasn't available. I really appreciated this information. And I'm thrilled they have a location in my neighborhood so I don't have to travel downtown. Thank you!
