Dr. Michael Thomas Stechison, MD

My niece was treated by this Dr, when he practiced in Albany Ga. He was very arrogant, condescending, to the family. Maybe he has mellowed as he has had more experience, but, with his personality, I don’t think so. She currently lives in a facility, with full time care. I really hope he has gotten better with the attitude.

Best friend of mind went to this Dr. As with the comments below, he too was treated in an inferior manner. Contrary to the systemic stereotypes, my friend is extremely health conscience with no health issues (diabetes, heart problems, hypertension etc.) which was a little shocking to his staff. As I look at some of the comments, I am a little suspicious of the two five stars with NO comments. I would bet that the raving reviews came from patience that share the same skin tone as this Dr. as I would also bet that the negative ones came from those on the darker side. My comments might seem offensive to those who think highly of this Dr. as they probably live their lives in a privileged and superior world. They will never understand or even care. As minorities or none privileged citizens, we should never accept healthcare that is not in our best interest. We are not in the early 1900’s where we didn’t have a choice. Unfortunately, in 2020 we are still dealing with these superior… behaviors. If you feel that you are not being treated with dignity and respect seek other options.

Bedside manners is non existence. Extremely rude condescending attitude. Staff is no better as they pump this dude up like a sales pitch. He does not like you to ask questions as if you are violating his authority. His approach to my medical situation reminded me of the historical Tuskegee experimentation. The best advice this Dr. gave me was to seek a second opinion.

Very rude and condescending. Didn’t listen or even seem to care about how I felt. Marginalized my symptoms and didn’t even look at all of my test. I can’t imagine he would have treated me that way if my husband had been allowed to be in the room with me. If your a female I would suggest seeing someone else.

I have nothing but praise for Dr.Stechison! I was living with back pain for about 20 yrs. The pain got unbearable. I saw 2 other neurosurgeons before I decided on Dr.Stechison. I was referred to him by 2 people who had back surgery performed by Dr.Stechison. He has a wonderful bedside manner. He has never been condescending to me, never rushed me, and has never been rude. He is absolutely precious, and I would recommend him to anyone who has back problems. He performed a Laminectomy on my back, put in two rods, a pin, and cadaver bone. Within a week I was off all pain meds, and my back has felt better than it has in years. No more pain! I would recommend Dr.Stechison to anyone, as he is a wonderful, experienced neurosurgeon! Praise to Dr.Stechison!

My back was in horrible shape. I lived with the pa in n for well over 15 years. I saw Dr.Stechison because of his wonderful reputation and success rate. He is absolutely precious! He has never been rude or condescending to me, and I think he has one of the best bedside manners compared to all of my doctors I see. He has never been arrogant to me, and I just don't see him in that light. The pain I had for over 15 years is now gone. Dr.Stechison had to put two rods, eight screws, a pin, and a piece of cadaver bone in my back. He also performed a Laminectomy at the same time. Within a week, I was off of all pain meds, and my back felt better than it has in a long time. I would highly recommend Dr.Stechison anyday!

Dr Stechison is excellent. He operated on me in 1995 for a cavernous sinus meningioma. He put me at ease, explaining just how he would fix my problem and stayed with me through the 13 hour surgery. I am doing very well. Thank you Dr Stechison

Not a nice person. Acts as if he knows everything, even diseases outside of his specialty. Claims nothing is wrong even when other doctors agree their is an issue. Says you don't need treatment and should just rely on pain medicine, even when the pain medicine is ineffective. Worst doctor I have ever seen. Regret wasting my time seeing this doctor.

Horrible experience! He is rude arrogant and unprofessional. Stay away!!!!

He's so creepy. I can't even look at him.
